I had Sirius radio in our car I got it to hear music
and I got more crap about "here's what it was like
back in the 50's" etc I was there don't care to here
stuff like that when I'm payin to listen to the music!
So a 32 gb stick put the music on it I want to listen
to bettter to lisaten to what you want instead of there

I agree. The only reason I still use Sirius is that I have lifetime subscription. They used to be all music, little talk.

Just about everything I can think of has been covered. I do like, and use, however, a holder for chains (doubles as holder for branch cutters), and brackets on rear of ROPS to carry shovels or pole saws, and one of those HF magnetic parts holders - keep in on a fender and very useful. There are posts on TbN re DIY chain holders and more.

Other things I would truly miss if I did not have them: chain hooks on FEL, steering wheel knob, quick hitch, and a 'tool' box behind the seat - used for a lot more than just tools. I also like my tilt meter - the pucker factor works but it is nice to have a second opinion.

Legroom, legroom, legroom. The CUT I use the most (smallest, FEL bucket, grading, moving trailers) has the least of it & at 6' 2" 175 lb I bet I'm not the tallest guy here, the widest, or have the biggest feet. (11 B)

btw, Just like when testing a gun's fit close your eyes and reach around for the foot controls, gearshift, range selector, joystick, etc. (I've practiced dismounting 'blind' too, .. or which side is easier to get on/off?) IMO if one could find them all in the dark that'd give them some insight into how well the machine fits & feels say when spending long hours in the seat, fatigued, barely awake, drunker 'n ol' "Cooter" Brown, etc.

I did it again. The cooling fan I added to the B worked so well it was time to upgrade the "lawn mower". Now the location of the ROPS hinge poses a significant problem. The fan has to mount to the top half but, can't mount to lower half if you need to lower the ROPS. After significant mental...

My wench in the house most of the time and handles the cooking, cleaning, and child rearing.

I prefer a canopy over a cab because I use my tractor a lot in the woods and for mowing along hedgerows where cab windows would be destroyed. Also, I am up north where AC is seldom needed.

A block heater, heavy duty loader bucket, and loaded rear tires are the only factory options I added. I prefer the standard gear transmission for most field work, much of which is with ground engaging implements and open field mowing.

Home made a accessories which I added were a hammer holder near the 3 point, a large wood framed, canvas covered removable canopy, a rear work light, bucket bolt on chain hooks, trailer hitch, center tree/ditch scoop, and loader arm mounted sprayer boom.

One factory option ths that was not available on the last new tractor I bought and I would have liked was hydraulic draft control. Fortunately, my antique Ford 8n has that, which makes it better for plowing unless the ground is too wet. If it is the 4wd of the JD trumps the hydraulic draft control.

Here is a picture of the removable canopy. It takes about 2 minutes to put on or take off and weighs about 30 pounds. The canvas was salvaged from an old tent camper that my brother on law scrapped.

I don't wear anything more than that either but have the top to a Frontier "document holder" as a cold thermos holder and have a small tool box from the 1025R. Use the bottom to a Frontier doc holder to hold the fire extinguisher. Oh, got a tool belt wrapped around the bottom of the grill guard. Holds mostly my little sledge hammer.

I just don’t want to be stuck paying the factory for most of the unessasary crap I see posted in this thread.
Simplicity is what I want, so other than things that are best done by the factory like extendable 3 point links, quick attach, extra remotes power steering, the rest I will simply add myself.
I can see the cost of a suicide jokey for the steering costing 10 dollars and taking 2 min to bolt on costing at min 100 from the dealer. My eaxtra lights that fit my needs cost about 38 bucks for all LED front and rear and took around 1/2 hour to mount and wire with a 99 cent on and off switch that looks like it was installed by the factory. My guess this would be at the least a 500 dollar add on from the factory, maybe more.
Blue tooth? Satalite radio? Tool boxes from the factory? Come on they wouldn’t get it right or they would be charging out the guzunga for it and it’s not needed!
Ass long as folks want to add all the frills themselves fine but don’t be suggesting everyone should pay for all this crap like we are stuck doing with our cars and trucks! It’s a darned tractor, get the work done and park it!

given all this discussion, i'd say that there is a big difference between add ons, and creature comfort. The OP had creature comforts in the title, so guess that's what he meant. the rest is subjective for every owner
as far as add ons, i'm all for it if it solves a particular need. love my aftermarket hyd top link, & small details like the steering wheel spinner, & grill screen guard, etc.
going back to comforts while on tractor, looks like a very personal choice according to this thread

I hear you. Awesome!

It’s like spending weekends away from home in a cabin with the bare comforts. There is quality and comfort in stepping back a bit.

Having said that, there is question of degree.

How far does one step back?

An open station, a horse, a hand operated plow….a shovel and wheelbarrow?

Everything we do is extremely personal to each of our individual situations, our perceptions of reality, and our priorities … which always seem to be in flux to some degree!
