Removing the armrests from tractor and mower seats. Just in the way when using the joystick, 3-PH/draft control, or or half turned around in the seat to monitor a rear attachment. 'Comfort' is the breeze wafting around the operator whenever the temp is > 15 F.

My M6040 has a small tool box behind the seat. Big enough for a very handy roll of paper towels. I put a "spinner knob" on the steering wheel. Shed Spread tub lodged behind the seat - filled with clean rags. The only tools I take into the field - large Klein/spud wrench, pliers, extra pins/hairpins.
Hey! Could you post a picture? It's one thing that I've been fussing over/about with my NX5510. I'll have some stuff just rolling all over the place on the floor (top link pins and such- my B7800 has a small box under the seat and that's what it gets used for): in a previous life I was a soccer player! I like to have a short chunk of chain with a grab hook and a strap hook for various activities and those too would be nice to corral.

I'm disappointed that the 2003 only has a 31 gallon fuel tank. The 1993 has a 42 gallon tank. I could go well over 700 miles on a tank. I'll miss that.
Why I love my little diesel car. Just filled it up. 804 miles on 14.5 gallons. Not a fluke. This is the fifth of six fill-ups in a row that I've rung up over 800 miles on a tank. If I ran it non-stop on the highway I'm pretty sure I could hit 900 miles, though I'd be puckering: low fuel light came on at 787 miles and I still have about 1.7 gallons left, so, not a stretch to think I could do 900 miles.

The very best "Creature Comfort" I've added to my tractor work is

An out door shower! for when the work is done.

Makes me smell good at the supper table too!

I'd be ok with someone having to buy an old machine.....gets them to appreciate what it does....and what it doesn't do!

They then might have more clarity when it came time to ante up to buy a newer machine.
A good 800 hrs or so on my B7800 helped me better understand what I wanted/needed in a next tractor. Why Kubota opted to use "Quarter Inching" valves for their 3pts on these machines is beyond my comprehension. The 3pt stuff is just a pain. My NX5510 has (a BIG PLUS ->) telescoping 3pt arms: I don't need a quick hitch (I went through various "quick hitch" "solutions" on the B7800 and eventually gave up and opted to get 3pt implements that are quick hitch compatible, which eliminates the need to adjust the turnbuckles.

And my contribution:
HORN!

That is so true!

You are probably very talented and have the ability to put just about anything you can picture in your mind into practice on your machine. I’m a bit like you, ingenuity is an awesome skill to have for sure.

At the same time, I know folks that can’t change out the replaceable insides of a sink faucet… they would rather replace the entire thing over repairing it, and that’s fine too! I’m sure they have some other skill set that I don’t have - Human Resources or maybe a Chemist!!! 😁
Well said !

VW ? Our little rabbit diesel only got 52 to 53 mpg and our tank was small only 10 gallons

Depending on where you live, a cab with heat and AC would be my suggestions

cup holder - coffee is important
clock - to monitor the time as work gets involved and distracting
Lights - that can see around the loader
Block Heater - winters get tough
Kill Switch - as an extra theft prevention tool
Cup holder, I can live with just that one.

Mine just did and asked how does she disconnect it, after thinking about it and realizing she never had to bring me anything on the other tractors.

horn?? It would chase all the rabbits and deer away!
A block heater takes some doing to install but a heater
in the lower radiator hose is easy to install.
Would this work it a 120 volt hot water heater element
should be easy to install providing it will fit!
I think it cost less than $15.

I like this idea, a replaceable cord. If it’s something that can removed or replaced when you don’t need it or when it gets damaged well, that’s the best of both worlds.

I had one installed by the dealer at the 20 hour service. Draining the coolant, pulling a freeze plug, and removing the starter to get to the plug were all too much for this “Green Acres” convert!!!
Cost $239.00

How about a 7-8 amp inverter to run small shop tools or small pole chain saw.
Branch chopper on the edge of the bucket.

I have a 2 way radio mounted on the tractor - Under the FEL control. It lets me contact my wife if out on the property and need assistance or other things. She has a handheld she used if she is out. If you are a radio operator, use a 2 meter or dual band radio. There are really cheap ones out the last 10 years. For info - I used to use a Yeasu ft270 handheld 2 meter. I had a habit of setting tools and stuff on the back tire of the tractor - biggest space around. Put the radio there, forgot it, ran over it with the back tire. That is not a cheap radio. It only cracked the screen, and I still use it today when not on the tractor.

That's one thing I will never need. (Engine warmer) We haven't ever had a frost in the 18 years we have lived here.

Guess not...but if you lived in the northern climes (like New England in the USA), a block heater is an essential in our frigid weather. Makes it much easier on the tractor.
