Soundguy -- where do you put charge indicator lamp if you have a 1 wire alternator and fuel gauge? Or do you? I really want to thank all you guys that have responded to this thread. It has been a real eye opener for me. Hope I can pass on some of this knowledge in the future...
I can't tell how amazed I am at all the help I've receive from around the country.
Kudos to you all !!!!

charge indicator lamp has it's own lil spot on the dash with a red lense. .. if you don't have a spot with the red lense.. then your dash wasn't for an 01... don't be comfused by the center dash illumination lamp blankout that usually has a plug in it. that's not it... if using a 1 wire alt.. you won't use the charge indicator lamp.. though some use it as an ignition on indicator.. ie.. power from coil side of key to lamp, then ground.. as a way to remind them lamp on = key on.. etc..

Ok guys, I think I've got it now. You all have been great and I appreciate especially Dollar Bill and sound guy for staying with me as long as you have and making this thread complete. I'm closing the thread now and wishing you all the best. I'll try to keep you posted on how it turns out.

I have other threads to open so I'll see you shortly and I'll try to keep you posted on my tractor trek.
Adios,
