Ford Model 101 3 Bottom Plow

Texan4Life,
Please go back and read my post #43.

TSC has wear parts for Fords in their catalog.

I've been a mechanic for 37 years. I do know how to find parts, but thanks anyway for the google tip.

As for going New Holland dealer. My dealer 15 minutes down the road dropped New Holland and kept Kubota. Sad thing is when a franchise is lost...................so are all the online manuals. I had a Ford 3055 and I was wanting to buy wider front rims. I was told no more Ford parts and got so steamed................I bought new instead of upgrading my good old Ford. This was back in 2007. Since then, Washington County Tractor in Brenham did the same thing. Dropped New Holland and just deal in Kubotas now. Heck, according to New Hollands dealer locator...........the dealers I just talked about are still on their list. So I have no clue where my closet New Holland dealer is.
hugs, Brandi

Washington County Tractor (WCT) is alive, and well, and full of New Holland Tractors. I just bought 3 New Holland Tractors and 6 new New Holland implements from them in this last year. Maybe each location specializes in a particular brand. The Sealy, Texas location is full of Blue! :)

I guess it is a location thing. Navasota's location is all orange.

I started tearing into the loose, worn parts. I was thinking of selling it, but my "bust the budget" perfectionism is kicking in. So far I have a total of around $150 in new parts. That is just the center coulter...........1 bolt ($17 each) and 1 bearing cone side ($26 or so) and the rolling landside............I need two plow bolts that are worn............maybe a new spindle ($70 something) and hub ($28 or so). The rolling landside's attach plow bolts where worn and spinning, so I had to cut the nuts off.

The right coulter's shaft pivot looks like it needs at least, a new spacer/bearing under the bolt. I haven't pulled that off yet.

So I am torn in selling or hoping I can find a 4th beam and bottom kit for it. If I got a 4th bottom, which seem to be rare.....I would go thru it with a fine tooth comb rebuilding it all. Maybe even springing for sandblasting. A sandblaster would be a good new piece of equipment I could definitely use.

Coulter bolt and bearing halves. This carriage bolt is $17 something from Messicks. The worn bearing half is on the right. 4-12-15 Coulter Bearing Halves and Bolt.jpg

Rolling landside spindle and hug. 4-12-15 Rolling Landside Spindle and Hub.jpg

Coulter Shaft Pivot Nut. There is suppose to be a thick spacer under the nut that contacts the bracket. The nut is the spacer here.4-12-15 Coulter Shaft Pivot Nut.jpg
All these parts were completely dry from any lubricants. Just dried rust and wear.
