Not to early IMO.
I went to synthetic at the first 50 hour change on my tractor. (its has 2000 hours now)
My zero turn called for the first oil change at 8 hours and I went to synthetic.

MY LS spec said to change oil at 50 hours. It for sure didn't have high detergent motor oil in it because it was still clear like a gasoline engine oil at 50 hours. I put in Shell Rotella T6 (full synthetic ) and within a few hours of run time the oil was full of carbon (black as coal) which is the way all diesel oil should look after a few hours.
50 hours should be enough to full seat in an engine if it is under load for that run time. My OEM said to load the engine and vary the throttle setting when running the first 50 hours so the rings seat correctly.

When I got the Kioti (1.5 hours on the clock), I unloaded it off the trailer and immediately went to work moving 105 tons of gravel. Worked it hard all day. Idled it down for 15 minutes (while I greased the loader and fueled it) before I shut it off.

The only thing I have seen, where they don't recommend a drop in switch to synthetic, is an air compressor.

...

I am sure though, some people will say they switched theirs, without problems.

I did. Used my Iron Horse compressor sparingly, for a couple of years. When I changed the oil, I used Amsoil synthetic compressor oil. No issues, as expected. I haven't even heard of people having problems, until your post. Compressor is a cheap Iron Horse 60gal rated at 11.2 CFM @ 90 PSI.

My 60g compressor suggested synthetic!

It replace a much over worked 29g unit that made oil dark fast. Syn oil in both.. No more dark oil out of the 29g comp.. Think it was handling heat better maybee.

Put T6 5W40 in the MF at 50 hours, 800+ hours later it's happy as can be! Everything we own has full syn in it, Polaris left the factory with full syn in it!

I am picking up a new lawn mower this weekend and it will have Quaker State synthetic 5W30 in it right from the git/go.

My mtd clone has store brand 5w30 full syn in it. Got I the day I brought it home. Cut my yard with the factory oil, then new filter and syn.

One thing I learned today from our service manager at the shop. Never use full synthetic gear oil in a differential that had accumulated miles on regular GL5-6 hypoid gear oil. I was told in no uncertain terms by him that replacement with synthetic hypoid oil will cause the seals to weep. He ought to know, he's Freightliner / Western Star ASAE certified.

Never knew that. I'm changing my differential fluids in my one ton Ford 4x4. Fact or fiction, I'm not gonna find out. Picked up a 5 gallon pail of Mobil 85-90 GL5 from the parts department on the way out to come home.

I call fiction.

In 2010, I bought a 1999 f350

It likely had WalMart everything in it. Was a work truck. Used hard put up wet.

I switched ot to full syn engine and diffy oil.

No engine and diffy leaks yet after 6 years???

I don't know why so many mechanics want to cling to dino juice the way they do. I guess they think they have known it all for years and don't want to learn. I've been trying to get my wife it switch to synth in her turboed car and she wouldn't do it because her mechanics all said to stick to dyno and change it all the time. Well her mechanic finally just recommend the change to synth because Subaru told them it was best and that is what they put in all the new cars at the factory now. Especially true with a turbo because of the high temps and high speeds on the bearings.
I break new gears in with the cheap stuff then in goes 100% synthetic. They just won't lap in with the slippery synthetic stuff which tells you something about wear right there. Maybe that's why, it's a form of job security, they want your junk to wear out.
