Gator vs. Mule vs. Ranger

Kid,

Ya gotta learn to pick your fights.... back off or join another forum. /w3tcompact/icons/mad.gif

It's one thing to disagree about a philosphical position or a good natured jab, but when it comes to tractor color - treat it here as you would religion or politics. /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif

Hmmmm... and I noticed that you were brave enough to formally register. Gheeshhhh.... /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif

Not a problem,I can take a hike or sit on the side lines, which I will..........No doubt the Doctor knows his farming and tractors. But man talk about a big egotistical individual.

Hmmm I'm egotistical because I defend the things that I buy and like and recommend them to other people. Well I guess that's fine then because most of the guys on the board here recommend and defend the equipment that they buy and use as well. That puts me in a pretty swell group of people. I kinda like being egotistical. Let's see Muhammad has put up banners for the new JD 110 and the new 4000 series tractors so I guess he's egotistical as well because there's no mention of the other ones. That's ok because Muhammad has got to be one of the greatest guys on the internet for making this site available to us. Bird and many others rave about their kubotas all the time and those are great guys. John Miller thinks JD is pretty cool as well. And let's not forget M.Chalkey going on and on about his adventures with Kubota, power trac, and now his infamous Earthforce machine. Pretty knowledgable guy there and talented with what he did with his kubota. Yep I like this egotistical group just fine. All in all then thanks for the compliment and putting me in this great group of people called tractorbynet.com. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Gator vs. Mule vs. Ranger? Y'all can go on about whatever, but it looks like I'm going to buy a Sportsman...

That sportsman is a great machine Steve. I bought my Grandpa one last year for hunting and he really enjoys it. The one you're talking about with the bed I almost bought over the phone. When I called them I asked about the 6x6 Ranger. They said they had one in stock for $7100 on a cash deal. Luckily I went down to check it out before I did the deal as it was the ATV type one that you are talking about. It was a really nice looking machine and very tough looking. It had a standard bedliner, push button 6wd and diff., forward and reverse and was very peppy with a high end top speed, I liked that over the Gator or Mule. But I needed a two seater so I went with the Gator. If you only need one person though to ride most of the time I think it would be an excellent choice for you. Other than the one person seating it was exactly like the Gator and Mule in all other aspects.

No harm, no foul. Just Americans choosing to disagree.

Steve, I've had a Sportsman 500 4X4 for 3 years, and it has been a great machine. It was my second Polaris. I purchased the first in '95, and my dad is still using it. With the success I've had with their products, I'd never buy another brand.

I've also found a dealer that has the best prices on new machines and service, hands down. It's LaBaron's Sports out of Troy Michigan.

Has anyone seen or driven a Pug? My uncle owns one of these. He uses it for hauling wood and other farm chores. His land is very steep and it handles this hills and off-grades just fine. I've driven it a few times, it's very very solid!

I especially like this Pug's articulated center steering.
