gc1720 wont start, whistle noise and lots of balck smoke.

Just a perception. It seems to me that there is a great level of resistance to one or more belts moving and that the immediate black seen in the video is a burning of the belt. My reasoning is this from a very brief video. . . The engine starts immediately. . No hesitation or resistance to starting. If the engine was doing all the smoking. . I would think startup would be more of a rough start. But the smoke is immediate and appears a slightly different color than the normal startup smoke of the engine.

It's like when ooklaa turned off the unit last. . A clutch engagement lever was not disengaged first (pto or mmm) or there is a stick or handle pinched in with a belt.

In any case. . . If the last time it was used everything was fine. . Then it doesn't seem likely it is engine related but rather whatever happened or didn't happen in the last 60 seconds before it was turned off . . . or if some kid was playing with the controls.

I have a GC1720 with about 100 hours on it - I agree with the others that a rotating part is now not rotating. I suspect, that if you throttled up (DON'T DO THIS), then the motor would not stall out because it would have enough power to overcome the friction of the seized component. You have a 5 year warranty, rather than continue to possibly induce further damage, let the warranty work for you. NO, you shouldn't be having a problem, but you are and some components just fail at times; it's not MF's or Iseki's fault necessarily.

I hadn't seen this particular video before.
If you look at this short video ooklaa took it clearly shows the smoke is not coming from the exhaust pipe.

It also shows the fan is spinning apparently at normal speed.

have you checked the hoses for your backhoe/loader? almost sounds like a dead ended hydraulic circuit.

hey guys well the next day it just started right up. no levers where moved at all. no hoses where touched. I called the dealer i bought it from and im kinda pissed because whoever i talked with in service was ignorant. I asked for him to check the forum here just so he can see the video. I am not close to the dealer and told him they would need to come pic up the unit as cant move. because i was not local he started right away to give me excuses on what Massey pays for and what it doesnt when it comes to pricing up units under warranty. I understand all of this. He flat out just was ignorant saying that all of us are yuppies and have no idea what where doing on the internet and not to take anyone advice on whats going on. I am tho very concerned on what long term problem this is going to do for me. The service advisor flat out said he doenst need to see the video. Actions like this is what pisses me off.

Whatever was squeaking by hand in this second video seems to be related to the culprit. Something connected to the belt drive is either seized or stuck. Problem may come back spontaneously, hard to say.

GC1715 owner here. I just went out and checked my fan. It does squeak just like yours when I move it fast, but if I move it slowly, the belt moves with it and turns the alternator.
