need a little something special for your wife for her birthday?
I'm thinking of David, since Sophie has her own tractor now, and what could top that...
well a little bauble from this collection would be nice.

we could all chip in......................

Hmmm, that would be significant chipping…

Fortunately, those would not be in our lifestyle. Way back when Sophie worked in an office she did dress the part etc. from time to time I would gift her nice earrings or bracelet (nothing that would’ve have made that list), then one year she said, Stop, she had plenty. After she survived her accident, I did get her a pretty nice 3 carat solitaire. The little chip of stone that had been her engagement ring was lost in the accident. She only wears that a few times a year as she will often remark she forgot to put it on. Usually will get a comment from a lady that hasn’t seen it before. It was a custom set by a friend.

The sky was high level overcast with 33ºF this morning's low temperature. Today's high temperature was a very pleasant 60ºF. The high level clouds have been thickening, but it has been a veiled sunny day and some mid level clouds are starting to build in as the predicted weather front advances. I expect the rain to begin sometime this evening and continue through the weekend into next week.

It was a good day to start moving rocks and dirt around with the tractor, and I got a solid 2 hours of seat time. My 300# stone birdbath is upright once again and ready to go. The tractor has not run since the midMarch snow event, but it started right up thanks in part to the solar powered battery maintainer that I use.

Moxie died. She is a German Shepherd that is on a motorcycle trip around the world with a couple on BMW bikes. She died from anti inflamation med she was allergic to after surgery for a tear in her front leg. We are sad about this we have been following the trip and their journey on UTube

Used my new all metal jerry can to fill up the mower, first time I had used it.
Definitely heavier, which is not good for me, but gosh it worked flawlessly, gas came out faster than on plastic cans, even with the gizmo on the end
which had to be depressed to let the gas out. Have constant problems with typical plastic cans where cap misthreads, and those plastic toothed bits you have to push in always seem to get stuck or not cooperate. Metal can was a joy. oem NATO.

I’m still using WW2 era Jerry cans, the ones with the thread on caps. The thread is 2” Pipe thread so it’s easy to adapt. I have a couple of flexible gooseneck spouts that have a cam lock to expand a rubber bushing, but they are worn out and don’t fit tight enough any more. The home made one that threads in and uses a hose barb and Tygon tube works great though. Fuels fast and doesn’t spill a drop.
Not sure why the military switched to the NATO style.

Drew, have you considered getting a preformed countertop vs just new formica?

I was wondering the same thing, ideally granite, corian, marble, soapstone etc.
I’m guessing it’s not a big kitchen, the labor is is the same either way, but the material is more. (But much better).

The Nato gas cans are easier to use and always tight with no leaks. The pouring spouts have rubber gaskets and levers to clamp it down tight. Quicker and no leaks

I told them I didn't care how they did it...low cost will win out, and not my call on the choice of kitchen counter, other than input on color.
