rs, the only latin I know is motorolus interruptus (when my cell phone cuts out on me). I have to admit my wifey was wishing the tank would go, and was waiting for the lonesome Pleco to pass....but he didn't. Even my wife is surreptitiously fond of the angels.

Make sure you duck and cover when you blast those lines out so you'z don't get blasted with the muck.

Eric, I'm still watching out for a hitchhiking sheep wearing glasses. If I pick him up and he asks to go to some planet, I'm putting him back out on the roadside.

Farmer, I'd be glad as heck they handed me my own check back.

Picking up a sheep wearing glasses..... Never gave that a thought. Kilgore Trout would be proud.

I wasn't real thrilled using paint thinner either, Irv. Besides being flammable, it easily formed bubbles that were difficult to remove from under the plexiglass. Next time I'll give antifreeze a try. Thanks!

RNG, what kind of compression are you going to run? I'm interested to know how much the 2nd plug helps. I know from aviation, it adds about 150 rpm when you test your ignition on pre-take off warmup.

Been a frustrating day.

Cell phone has not been charging the last 2 days, this morning while "working" on it, the pins inside the USB connector bent, so now there's no way it is going to charge.
Went in to Costco to get new front tires on my honda (297K miles), was a 2.5 hr wait they said, which turned out to be over 3 hrs. While there, went to the phone kiosk. They said, no problem, you can get a "free" upgrade, just pay the activation fee and you can keep your plan, just have to sign 2 yr contract. I said as long as I can keep my current plan (which is one of the old UNLIMITED data plans) I'll buy the phone. I ended up choosing the Samsung S6, so it was $100 more. So I get the slip, and have to go pay at the regular register. They are all backed up with people with overflowing carts full of stuff, asked the guy maning the self checkouts could do it, but he wouldn't/couldn't, so back in line behind even more people. Get it paid, have to go to pickup to get the phone. Had to wait for someone to come work the pickup desk. So I finally get the phone, and he walks the phone back to the verizon kiosk for it to be activated. Guess they don't trust us to walk it over, because he had to carry it over. So the lady at the kiosk starts to activate my service, then says uh oh. I can't keep my existing plan with the new phone. So I said, no deal. She now has to walk the phone back to the pickup desk, and I get refunded my money. I asked if I could just outright pay the full price for the phone and she said no.

While at costco, I also asked about a new hearing aid for my son, who lost one of his. $1300 for one hearing aid, $2600 for a pair. They don't have the exact same model as his existing. this is with the bluetooth feature, and may not work right with his existing bluetooth one. That's the same price I can get it from his audiologist, so costco hearing aid won't be cheaper, but more convenient.

Back at the tire shop, they wanted to show me my "good" back tires, seems they are cupping real bad on the inside. outsides look brand new. Plenty of rubber, so I said I will use them until they get worn down. So that was over 3 hrs at costco.

Went to pick up a bite of food at checkers, and the line of cars was out onto the street. waited just a little, no movement in the line, so I left and went to the oil quick change, as the honda was overdue for that. Got right in there. When they asked me about my tires I told them to not check them as I had just left the tire shop. (last time I was there with my other honda, they deflated my tires to the point the low tire indicator came on as soon as I left the place). They now have a camera/monitor setup that shows the underside of the car as you sit there. I saw them add oil, they had me start the car for a bit, then turn off to check the oil. after that I noticed the guy on the monitor working under my car. turns out they added new oil without draining the old oil, so I ran my vehicle for about a minute with way too much oil in it. so after they drained the oil, they added more oil, told me to start it up. They guy actually admitted they forgot to drain the oil. they never did recheck the oil level...

Lunch at a different place went much better, then I came home.

Tried to make a long distance call on my home phone, I get a message I don't have service. My past long distance provider, sprint, is no longer offering home phone long distance service, and they dropped me last week. Last sunday I switched my long distance to ATT. From an email, they said I was good to go, but I still got a sprint message. Called ATT, had them check into it, they said it takes up to 10 days for them to make the switch. I told them the email said if was ready, but apparently not.

Some time around then, my son came home from school, and mentioned it was friday the 13th.

Now I understand.

wow, that was long winded for me.

Farmer, why not give Barlows a call about a tractor? I got my last one from them. One of these times on my way thru KY, I'm going to stop in and meet them.

Don, hope the new golf cart works out.

I have anderson doors where the vinyl delaminated on the outside. They were under warranty, they shipped me new doors that I installed myself at no cost.

I'd plan on staying in bed next Friday the 13th!!

Buckeye, you and Don have had really tough Friday the 13s. Tomorrow will be much better.

My Andersen doors also delaminated, but well after the warranty period. I have been gluing the pieces back on. I really like the doors, but not happy with the delam.

electric cart was nice when I wasn't fighting off the corrosion or acid overspill eating away my frame.

Battery corrosion on the frame is not an issue on the Club Car because it's aluminum, that will be a big plus for the Club Car. However, the cables and connectors and metal battery tie downs are subject to corrosion from the battery, and should probably be cleaned as ofter as you would change the oil in a gas. However the oil and gas and filters as opposed to $700 battery change out every 4 years I would think gas motor is less expensive to operate.

Which golf cart did you have that the frame was eaten away?

That all happened on the 12th and it had me really really scared today. I did not touch anything today - nothing broke!

An older EZ Go. I really liked it, but got fed up with the constant battery/corrosion/wire/frame rusting possibly from overcharging using the supplied charger. I did not look at Ron's charger link, but if a charger only charges 2 amp/hours, it might be considered a trickle charger. IIRC, you can easily calculate the amp/hours required if you know the amp/hours used or discharged. So if you need 100 amp hours of charge it would take a 2 amp hour charger 50 hours or more.

Don, a friend of mine bought one of the gas Yamahas from Randy. I'll ask him at church on Sunday how it has worked out for him the past year.

Compressor picked up from the rental place and dropped (inside) at the commercial property, picked up the fittings I need to tee it in at Lowes on the way home, so we should be good to go for tomorrow's fun and games.

Picked up a fifth of Skyy for Steve for the use of his leaf blower and the van to pick up and return the compressor.

Contacted the neighbor kid and will pick up my torpedo heater from him in the AM.

Only thing left to do is round up/grab the tools that aren't already in there, in the morning, and toss them in the van.

Met the other neighbor kid when I got home, so he could grab his 4 wheeler out of the shop and have his brother tow him home.

Spoke to the realtor today ... he had an inquiry from a guy down in Cincy that is interested in the property. He's looking to tear down the existing building and put in a multi-suite commercial building, so if there is an offer at some point it will probably be a low-ball offer.

Didn't get much sleep last night so I'm going to bed so I can get an early start.

Did some more looking around on verizon this afternoon, and found out that starting next month verizon is going to increase the cost of unlimited plans $20/month. Also looked at my past phone bills, and decided I really didn't use that much data on the phone.

So tonight went to a verizon store, and decided to go ahead and get a phone upgrade, and switched to one of the shareable data plans, put my new LG 4G phone and MIFI on the new plan, and will also move my son's phone to it. In all I will be paying less for more data than what I was using on my unlimited. Also was able to get a 20% discount thru my work. Then went to Moe's and got a really good burrito.

Now if the wind would just calm down, my flag got shreaded by the wind today, it's caught on the top of the pole, and the rope is broken. will have to take the pole down to put a new rope on.

Today the sky is dark, there is no spectacular sunrise, only a drab gray that refuses to get lighter, despite the clock ticking well past my normal time to get up while the radio presenter was talking in hushed tones that I did not understand until the newsreader came on and revealed what the people of France are suffering. So so sad.

I counted thirteen fence posts that storm Abigail blew over yesterday. Not her fault really, all the posts were rotten. Today we get to meet Kate. The tail end of this hurricane is expected to give some exceptional rainfall of up to 6" as it breaks over to the west of us in Wales and possibly even more to the North in Lancashire and Yorkshire. Giving names to weather events like this still seems a bit weird to me. These female ones seem quite feisty, hope the male ones will be more like wet wimps.

much cooler day, 42 out now only going to 55F today.
Successfully got a new gas furnace installed yesterday. RS, keep doing this stuff yourself; this one (the second of two gaspacks) cost $3K, Trane 95 model, like the other one. I just did not trust a 28 year old combustion chamber, plus the newer unit should use less propane. I did notice that the blower was noticeably more powerful, a little more warm air on my toes in the bathroom this morning. So now all three hvac units are relatively new and I can scratch that off the expensive list.

I know it's early but I may work on my Christmas tree this morning. Doing this by myself just takes a lot of time but I made good progress yesterday bringing decorations downstairs. Trying to remember how my late wife did this stuff...she was so good at it. I picked up one string of silver and red beads and oh no the one end was untied, and about a hundred little colored balls scattered over the entire length of the hardwood floor foyer. bing bing bing bing bing Groan.

I have a method for my madness in starting early, might enlist some female help. And if it looks nice enough when I'm done I might even get motivated to have a Christmas party, my first one. My new carpeting is just itching for some red holiday punch...;)

Roy, you sleeping in? Probably had a long day yesterday. I wonder when your first snow will be....

reading some of these posts I think a few of you are glad this week is done.
I was born on the 13th so for sure I can blame it all on that...
is there a government check for that?
just kidding. I think.

38 degrees this morning and hope the wind dies down. Yesterday it blew and blew then blew some more so much so too windy to pave so graded in another job did some patch work and called it a day. Ion for today postponed till next Saturday so don't know what I will do today

Eric personally I think naming storms is stupid and sorry for the damage to your fence posts
Terrible just terrible what happened in France

Drew you will really like the traine systems they work very well and the gas or propane work very well and efficient too

so too windy to pave

Terrible just terrible what happened in France

The headlines this morning are awful. A mini 9-11 for the French people. The Russians get their jet shot down full of kids.
beyond sad.
We really need to be careful in this country too.

as a pacifist, I struggle with the idea that a well armed citizenry possibly could have reduced the death count in Paris. Not the French way. I hope they never try it here to see if we do any better. Good thing I don't like crowded places. Nor do I like to fly. Not trying to be political, but like all of us, shocked by this. It sure could happen here.

on a brighter note, Buppies, how can it be too windy to pave? What does the wind do other than blow grit in your eyes? just curious

Company I worked for made levels for their balancing machines. The fluid we used was naphtha. Same as lighter fluid. Later we used Hexane. Both would have the same results that you need to measure volume.

The wind cools the surface of the new mat rapidly so much so that getting the roller on it fast enough is not possible which causes the surface to look rough. Corners on parking lots and driveways especially

39.8F and overcast @ 05:00 ...

Woke up @ 04:15 ...

The new kitty appears to be at least being tolerated at this point ... the male cat is mostly very much interested in watching it play, although occasionally he just gets bored and flops over on his side and closes his eyes ... almost. Sometimes they just sit and stare at eat other.

The little kitty however sometimes has other ideas ... last night he/she/it actually started to stalk the male cat, which is probably 10x its size and 20x its weight. Be real interesting to see how that will go, when it finally does an unexpected ambush.

The little kitty is into exploring and is very prone to just abruptly taking off and running 10' or 20' in some random direction. Can't think of a better way to trigger the predator response.

Female cat is still largely disinterested.
