Your A1C is great as well as your glucose level IMO. The past 10 years I've been running 6.3 - 6.5 which are great #'s for an insulin dependent diabetic. Last year I started running ~6.7 which freaked me out, but my PCP told me that for my age 6.7 is a "good" #. I do not have a sweet tooth; but I am a fat and grease addict. The martinis do not help. For all my "stuff" my bloodwork is really decent.

Thanks for the compliment for the owl pics. Bluejays tipped me off to its presence while I was drinking my coffee. I drove/coasted down the driveway in the truck. At 3 frames/second in "burst" mode I got quite a few pictures. The owl remained there for quite a while after I left and returned to my coffee.

I might over time post some Warbler pictures. I "captured" 7 different species; some of them considered "rare" last year.
Thank you for posting the owl pictures. They are not easy to catch. We have them around but very elusive.

I have been doing mostly self monitoring of my A1C for the last 30 years getting lab results every 6 months. As you know A1C is a 3 month look back and getting results every 6 months I am staying up on it before it can derail too badly. Controlling it with diet and exercise. Last results went red on the lab results at 5.8. Doctor said don't worry about it that is good number for age.

We have large trees with so many birds but the iPhone is not the ideal one for pictures at that distance

Morning all, 55 going to 77, sun is up

Spent hours disassembling my jeep dash to replace the heater drive gear, only to find out the door itself is stuck, which is what broke the gear. So not sure what to do as fixing this design defect means taking the heater core and half of the truck apart :-(
Reassembled dash.

Today off to Shad Fest in Lambertville then to see son's band play for Earth Day in Doylestown.

Another big Ash fell while walking the dog at 9pm, she just about ran to get back into the house..

Dandelions in salad, in stir frys , made into wine, but mostly just popping up on my mulched in areas. How come the deer only eat what I don't want them to, but leave all the weeds behind?

Be well,

Partially disassembled dash, all that metal had to come out too.

deer are sure welcome to my dandelions, was out weedwacking them this morning

however the fact that my tulips all made it, not one munch so far, tells me no deer around here.
The cull might have disrupted the local habitat, which it was trying to do, since deer counts per acre were ten times too high.

at least for this year, I get to see tulips everywhere.

vacuumed up a ton of dead ants in rv. Last application of Raid did the trick. I aired out the rv for days, no smell now.
have to make the bed using new flat sheets. A task I have been putting off.

am wondering if putting a little corn meal on gravel under rv would be a good deterrent?
I think I have some mint oil here which I'm told also is a good deterrent. can spray that under rv too.
don't want to hurt pollinators

Good morning! A little late posting....
Overnight low was 37°, heading up to 65°. Sunny and just "breezes" ---- but breezes here are 15-20 mph. Sure better than 55 mph though.

Drip irrigation has been started, still need to finish a couple more changes. They will get done before moving on to prep for the tree planting.

Everyone have a great day!

67°F and no rain.

Another step forward into the past. Lunch with the retired military guys. Attempting to get back on schedule with meeting every other month.

Will pickup some diesel and mower gas while in town. Possibly a stop at HD if I can’t find 4 1/2 bolts and nuts for the flail. Get that tensioner installed when I get home. Maybe even get a bit of mowing.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

46F wet, and cloudy @ 12:00, heading to around 58F for the day's high. Calling for off and on rain showers. LWS reporting 0.98" accumulation so far.

Got steel for main part of the mobile base under saw all cut, trimmed out and mostly beveled for welding last night:

IMG_2491 copy.jpg

Today I'll try and locate a container that is long enough to accommodate the pieces - which are about 22" long overall - so I can give them a bath in some vinegar to remove the mill scale.

Also need to cut a few more pieces of angle for mountings for the feet which will be able to be screwed down to take the base off its wheels.

I think I already have something that will work for the feet, which got thrown into a delivery I was making back in the day and the consignee didn't want them. Just need to mine for some bolts or threaded rod which fits them.

Last night I ordered a just a pair of plain wheels from Amazon which should be here in the next couple of hours.

Plan is to use two fixed (non-swiveling) wheels along with a single locking + swiveling caster that I already have ... which will ensure that the base always has all three points of contact on the ground (co-planar)

Also ordered some metric shoulder bolts and self-locking nuts from McMaster which shipped today and should be here Monday.

Need to do some surface mining and clear a bunch of crap off the large welding table so it can be used to lay out and tack up the mobile base.

Might be a trip up or down to Menards to pick up a couple of small items for the wiring on the On/Off paddle switch. Mulch is also on sale ... hmmm ...

Hope everyone is having a good Saturday ... (y)

This coming week I anticipate quite an influx of returning migratory birds. I have far too many picture that I have taken to ever share here, but I will share these 2 taken last month. The Barred Owl was just off our driveway and was very tolerant of the photoshoot from the truck.

I have Owls around my place. I hear them. But have not been lucky enough to catch one while I have camera in a position to get a photo. I will keep trying.

Depends on what you are digging ours Cat 305E we have 24, 30, 18, 6 inch buckets. Do not have quick connect but do have tilting blade. Hope this helps
I will be primarily removing stumps and moving logs for my WoodMizer, with occasional ditching and ditch-cleaning.

I think most of us like to think we set fairly high standards, but
I always keep in mind Mickey Mantle. My childhood hero.
He only hit one out of three. So I knew early on things regularly don't go
as you want...but consistently do good work, and you can be a star.
Popgadget's my star, however with an rv with no tail light assembly, it is now parked.
With hopefully a brand new one on the way.

If I had scratched my paint or dented something, I would be next level annoyed.
Have to realize I don't have distance beepers on this thing. Likely able to retrofit.

have been looking on e-trailer web site, considering adding a steering stabilizer and small Sumo rubber springs in front.
Allegedly bolt on, no drilling, and not hard to do.
Rv has MorRyde upgrades but no doc on what you actually got. Probably better leaf spring shackles, probably a front sway bar, it has one, and maybe heavier duty shocks.
The problem with adding suspension upgrades to rv's is you immediately void the long term warranty as they specifically prohibit it, at least GulfStream does.
I'm sure the primary reason is to keep folks from overloading their rv. Which in reality is done all that time. They have to take a defensive posture assuming
their product will be abused.

But I now have a four year rv out of warranty so I can do what I want. I don't want more weight carrying capacity, am looking for better ride and handling.
I did this once before on a prior rv and had good results. Then I bought a more loaded rv and it had all this stuff standard. Now starting back over with a suspension stripper.
New tires and alignment accomplished. New flexible valve extenders nicely attached to wheel cover so no whipping around, no valve stem neck breaking again hopefully.
The brakes are fair and the handling is whale like at times.

E450 commercial chassis I guess is even less capable compared to their traditional F53 Class A gas motorhome chassis.
Unless you drive like a snail around curves, they all need some oem upgrades. The big name brands build it all in now.

you could always duct tape some empty soda cans to the bumper - you’ll hear the “crunch“ before there is a *real* crunch 🤣😂🤣😂

Harry has been quite comical with dandelion seed heads: he goes to sniff it, it tickles his nose, he gets angry and bites it — hilarity ensues.

this has been going on for two weeks now. Stubborn pup…

I have a 150 - 600mm zoom mated to my full sensor frame which is mounted on a tripod, and my hand held 100 - 400mm zoom mated to my cropped sensor frame both ready to go. I take the 100 - 400mm setup with me almost everywhere nowadays.

Most of my pictures are taken out my kitchen windows. No room for tripod. My full frame Canon 6D has a 150-600 lens. Takes great pictures but is big and heavy. Recently purchased a Sony RX10 IV. Takes great pictures and is easy to carry.

Nice camera. My friend has the Sony RX10IV and really likes it for similar reasons. I have the Tamron® 150 - 600mm G2 lens. I have 2 windows and a door that I can use with my Canon 5D Mark IV mounted on the tripod and I also have a bird blind set up near an abandoned/overgrown flower garden that has all kinds of plants that attract wildlife. This blind can accommodate me, a camp chair, and the camera/lens/tripod setup almost comfortably. It has been set up outdoors since last Fall and it weathered that 30" snowstorm without damage.
