I would agree with Ford850 ....... I normally wear an XL but found the 2XL in this style glove to be more comfortable.

i ordered some of the pro leather gloves, and just got done cutting up a truck load of oak firewood. shipping from CA to GA in about 3 days, and they're awesome! they're a little hot...of course that could have something to do with it being 97 degrees and 100% humidity.

i'm going to order a few more pairs to squirrel away.

I only buy
M-Pact(R) Impact-Resistant Gloves | Mechanix Wear

No matter what glove I wore in the past it always seemed to end up hurting my knuckles. NO MORE with these. They do go on sale pretty often from the site up to 50% off.
The Rubber protecting the front of the hand is incredible,

Small gloat here. I use cheap gloves. I tried better gloves but didn't seem to get enough extra wear to justify them. Lowes was closing out the three pack of leather gloves with cuffs. They were normally about $5 for a three pack. I needed some and it just so happened they were closing them out for .53 cents for a three pack. I bought all 18 packs. Hard to beat .16 cents a pair.

I order my gloves from Galeton.com by the dozen. I usually get leather drivers for around 115 per dozen. They carry them in a range of sizes including small which works well for me. Most of the time I cant get a woman's size at the big box stores. Their sales are great. I recently got a dozen leather gloves fully lined with kevlar for around 100.00 - a steal. Had to go with a medium though.

Just cheap cotton Jersey gloves for me. Leather gloves get too dirty and gross quickly. Or if they get wet, they get all crunchy when they dry.

I have to wonder who wears those white knitted gloves? The ones they use in auto assembly plants. I think, they would be good for that application only. Little protection, terrible when wet, no good for cold. They catch on sharp stuff.

I decided to buy Carhartt gloves upon reading the positive reviews on this article. The gloves are tough, straightforward, no-nonsense gloves. They smell great and feel like they will endure some effort. I've been chopping wood with these for a few months now and they have been holding up great. My hands are very happy to have these.
