Bought mine from Dehner Welding (Home) and it is heavy duty. He sells from ebay and you can view pics there. I like the idea of the cylinder being protected by a steel plate.

I looked at the link you posted. A lot of the products look like copies or knock offs of items made by Markham Welding www.markhamwelding.com The companies are even in the same community.

Anyone looking at these items should compare the two.

I have been looking at the site for a TC-40 New Holland owner that built his own grapple. He had very detailed pictures of the fabrication process that looks easy to follow. So my next project will be building a grapple to bolt to the bucket. Will report on progress late on.

That was PineRidge, you can search his name to get to the post...

I just ordered a complete grapple from Millonzi - the one Island Tractor has, and loves. (I'm glad he made me aware of it). Separate attachment, doesn't go on the bucket, and cost $645 which strikes me as quite a bargain.

The Millonzi is by far the best deal in a grapple these days. It does a lot more than a bucket grapple but costs no more than the bolt it in yourself kits from ATI and Add A Grapple. The only added cost is that you need to get a universal QA adapter but that will then open up the possibility of using many BobCat attachments and makes changing attachments trivial. And, you don't need to weld or bolt through your standard bucket (although you will need to put a QA receiver plate on a bucket to use with the QA).

I have the single jaw 48" version on my CK20 which I imagine is what Charlesaf3 also ordered for his B3030. They also make a dual jaw 60 (maybe it is 72) inch version for a few hundred more. An advantage of a true grapple over a bucket grapple is visibility: you can see through the grapple so you can far more easily place it exactly where you want. It also does not have bucket sides so you can get a full, not half load into the grapple. One additional factor in favor of the grapple is that it weighs only 280lbs which is probably exactly the same as a bucket plus grapple. Although it is relatively light, it is made of 3/8 inch steel and has withstood fifty hours of hard work digging out trees and carrying huge loads of brush without a whimper. The decals have rubbed off that's it.

Real Grapples Rule:D

I...

My Kubota has a 'Skid Steer Quick Adapter' - is that the same as a 'Universal QA Adapter'? I found them on the web - do you have to order direct or are there dealers? Looks very promising!
