WOW Man... Those pics are IMPRESSIVE... Hope you had a good fire going nearby... Brings back some fond/SOBERING memories... I am VERY familiar with that/your area... I notice the chains/'first aid electrolyte'... Tell me what happened to the tire (NOT good timing)... Today I did similar tree/grapple-work but YOU don't want to know how nice it was to work outside here/in Central Florida today (at least I did not sweat)... Maintain course/speed...

I had low tire pressure in my right front tire, I had noticed it after my third grapple load of wood, and then rather than doing the smart thing and airing up my low tire, I figured well, I only have one more load so I’ll risk it. I loaded up (probably too much) for the last load, and then as soon as I made a sharp turn off the snow covered drive into the freshly paved gravel road, I rolled the tire off the bead.

I knew I wouldn’t be able to set the bead because the tire was so stiff in the cold, so I grabbed my battery operated impact, my sons sled, and a cold beer.

Then took the tire off, set it on the sled, sat down on top of the tire, and sledded down my hilly road :)

I put the tire next to the woodstove, lit a fire, and gave it a few hours to warm up. I was going to use a ratchet strap but didn’t have one (to try and set the bead) so I had to improvise. I rigged up a “Spanish windlass” to squeeze down on the centerline of the tire, and without issue, blew the tire back up.

The trek back up the hill with the tire on the sled was NOT fun at all, but it worked, and I had the tire back on before bed.

Nice pics. I wish we would get a decent snowfall. I know it's a little off topic but what style chains are they and where did you get them? They're on my list of things I need. BTW, I see your refreshment cooling in the snow LOL.

I got the chains from a place in Tamworth, NH called Windy Ridge. They work wonders! I had standard ladder chains on my tears before this and they just didn’t give me the traction I wanted. These are called OFA chains and the model is EKO 9.

It is a good reminder. For whatever reason I tend to live with leaky tires rather than getting then fixed. My larger FEL loader front right loses air over about an 18 month period. One of my cars leaks down in about 5 weeks.

I like that. It痴 simple and it痴 a good price. Nice find
I am looking for a narrow light grapple and came across this one

MTL 48" XL Root Grapple Hydraulic Brush Grapple Attachment - Fits all mini Bobcat skid steers MTL Attachments

$899 including shipping to freight terminal on EBAY and only 395lbs. Comparable in weight to the EA 54 inch single lid, but WAY, WAY less money. I have not been able to verify the opening dimension but it is likely better than EAs 37 inch. I will have to contact MTL for that info. Anyone have knowledge of MTL and their quality?

Tube the fronts and forget about it. I don't think I have put air in them since I tubed them three+ years ago. Dropped mine off at Les Scwhab... they had tubes in stock and turned them around quickly.

I even lose the tubed fronts, Les Schwab has fixed my Massey fronts 3 times in 2 years. Don’t know why but I think they have a built in magnet for attracting nails. They fix them for free as part of their road (barnyard?) hazard guarantee.

Well tubes won't help you with nails... but man, sounds like you drive in hazardous territory! If it isn't nails, then maybe check your rims next failure.

Finally got my Grapple Now I need to get Hydraulic lines made up. Unloaded it from the my trailer, good thing I didn't go wider as I would not have been able to unloaded it directly on to my loader. Almost 47 inche opening.

Very nice. Where did you order it from? I assume that is an OBG1?

Yes, Its a 64 inch OBG1, I did a dealer search at the WR Long site turned out there were 2 dealers in my area, a 90 minute drive from my place. I also checked with dealer in NC but he wanted 650 bucks for Frt.

Looks good.
I added lines to my remotes on our old tractor for the grapple. Here is a video.

Using the Monster Grapple in 2015 to move some trees pulled earlier with the tree puller:

I don't know why everybody's got to have these fancy grapple buckets they can't do any more than a pair of pallet Forks on it the front of a tractor with a grapple I think that is a better method anyways. So why do you need to have so many more tools than what you actually need. Pallet Forks on a tractor can pick up many more things than just pallets they they do a great job with the Sawmills and loading logs
