GT2550 Reverse Protection mode not workin

Hi all

My "spare" GT2550 is out of mothballs and will be my prime tractor this summer while I refurbish my other one.

Everything is good except the "reverse protection mode" switch setting does not work. I turn the key back and press the button but the light does not go on and the PTO turns of when I backup.

Any ideas?

Some of the earlier model MTD branded riders required that the headlights to work for the reverse mow system to work. They were wired through the headlights for some crazy idea.

Interesting, I know the head light wire harness on this tractor is a mess. I will have to check that out.

Ended up being the key switch module. I took the one out of my other GT2550 and boom...things worked. Now I need to spend $65.00 to get a new unit.
