1999 B2710 with 880 hours or so. Never had anything in the tires but slime and air. Never thought about loading them.

I'll be using this locally for a month to get a feel for it before towing it to it's intended use.

Probably just over-thinking this but honestly can't find anybody here who hasn't loaded tires on a B-Kubota. Can't wait to get the darned thing & try it out. Thanks,

I have a b3200 without loaded tires. Yes you have to be careful with weight in the bucket. Most of the time I have brush cutter or tiller on back so not so bad. Keep the bucket low to the ground if no ballast. I got caught once unloading tiller out of back of truck. 700 lbs is a bit much without ballast. Back wheels came off ground when lowering tiller. Nearly soiled myself but made it to ground without tip over. Scary.

B7500 with unloaded tires. Getting them filled or getting weights before winter. Need a little more weight when moving snow/cleaning the barn but there isn't enough room in the barn to fit a 3pt weight box.

My B7610 has unloaded tires. I use chains in the winter when necessary and it works great.

Thanks again guys. Have used the tractor for bushhogging a few hours & that's no issue as the rear cutter is heavy & long. Did grading dirt/loose stone trail a couple hours but only pushing with or floating FEL so far w. backblade on so to early to tell though can already appreciate the thoughts on having ballast.

B2920, w/o loaded tires. If I need to hold the ***** end down for loader work, I'll just put something back there.

I just had quite the episode trying to unload some honkin oak logs off a trailer using the FEL. Does anyone have any pics / ideas for homemade ballast box?

You may get a couple of replies here, but be aware that the search function will fetch numerous threads devoted to this subject. I would search all forums because ballast boxes are used by owners of all makes. One alternative to ballast boxes are suitcase weights. Another is to use a carry-all as the base and fashion a box that can bolt/unbolt to/from the carry-all. Another is to fashion a subframe that can also temporarily bolt to the carry-all with vertical posts for barbell weights. You can fashion front frames for barbell weights as well. A carry-all can be bought for $100 to $200 and makes a versatile implement with many other uses. Used barbell weights can be found in used sporting goods stores and on Craigslist for much less than suitcase weights, but nothing is as cheap as rocks in a homemade ballast box-ideally (IMHO) bolted onto a carry-all.
