Help! L3200 length vs trailer length

Thanks, you all have very valid points. I was also not thinking about the additional weight of loaded tires. The dealer can order a #9900 18' or 20' treated deck car hauler for me (3 Wks.), I guess it is better to wait and get the best fit. I still would like to not to go over 18' due to tight work sites and narrow city streets. Do you think with 18' I will get good weight distribution? Having the tractor backed on might be best?
With the car hauler having no side rails (only front) it would also work better for side loading building materials.

I think a 20' would be a smarter choice for distribution... but a 18' would probably work... As for the 2 extra feet I don't think that'll make a huge difference handling / backing it in... If things are really tight, then get a ball mount for your bucket or hoe and unload in the street and use the tractor to back the trailer in....

Good luck

I have a L3800 w/ the same BH77 plus a 6' mower. Go 10K w/ a 20' trailer otherwise you'll always be trying to jam it all on and be hovering w/ overweight. You'll get better maneuvering the longer trailer, save yourself the aggravation of a too small trailer and be safe.

I am a bit late to the thread, buy you do need a 20' trailer and 10k.

18' is too short. The boom, when properly lowered to the trailer deck, will hang off the back.

L3200 + Loader + loaded R4's + Backhoe is likely pushing 6k+

I sprung for a 7x20(2' dovetail) trailer w/9950 lb gross. It fits my L-3200 with mower just fine. I figured it was easier to learn to maneuver the larger trailer than it was to shoehorn everything onto the wrong trailer.

It sound's like you got a great deal on your trailer. I have the same on order for my L3800 only a CarMate $3200 (dealer just called, tractor to be delivered Friday) I am hoping the trailer is in soon so I can move the tractor. It will be like having a new pool and not being able to swimming in it.
Enjoy your new trailer!

Get yourself an adjustable hitch so your trailer is level... It'll be better all around... Tire wear, load distribution, towing etc...

Thank you for the advice. If I ever get a trailer I'm remember this. The trailer was borrowed from a friend so I could just get the tractor from point A to point B. This was the first time I'd ever hauled a trailer this long and did it with a tractor on it. It would probably helped to have had it about 2ft more towards the back, but it was loaded on uneven ground and when I took this picture I didn't feel like undoing all the straps and restrapping it.

I have a l3940 hst with bh90 I love my 24' tilt trailer. I often put extra bucket or forks on trailer. I have even been known to toss an atv on the trailer. Rides like a dream. Mark
