Here is an interesting product but can only lift 1500 lbs https://www.paladinattachments.com/sites/default/files/prod_lit/Bradco_Hardscape_Grapple.pdf

Probably makes building rock walls pretty easy

Gotta be honest here. Post #24 - I show a large rock I moved about a half mile to my driveway. This entire move was a REAL PITA. I was so very concerned about potential damage to the tractor FEL. It took the better part of an hour to make the move. Dead slow - grapple leaving drag marks on the ground. I finally made it and I will never go that far afield again for a rock that size. I looked HARDER and found plenty within 100 feet of my driveway. This move didn't cause any damage - it was the bouncing, along the way, that was my concern.

Thanks for the honesty. The more I read the more I think pulling the larger rocks on a stone boat make more sense.

For sure regarding the stone boat. If your eyes get too big and you load up the stone boat too heavy - the worst that can happen - all four tires will start digging their own little hole.

Decide where you want the boulders to go and call a landscape Co. with a small crawler/skid Steer.
Better than breaking your own equipment.

I need to push some fairly large rocks around. I've was able to push many of them with a 70 hp mini excavator with a blade but I am wondering what I can do with a 60 hp tractor. I'm guessing the weight of the equipment and it being able to maintain traction is probably part of the equation.

Throwing this in as a reference

If you think they are too heavy for your bucket (or grapple) I think it's easier to pull them.

For what it's worth........

I have a 2007 Kubota M7040 (68 hp) with 4WD. I tried to move a large rock (3 ft X 4.5 ft X 1.5 ft). Tractor wouldn't pick it up off the ground, but I got my forks under it and was able to push it where I wanted (about 80 yards).

Do I call them for every rock I need to move? That adds up fast if I don't have all of them to move at the same time. Also, around here, charges to just bring the equipment to the land can be $200-$500

with mine I was able to lift a set of concrete stairs on one end and drag them up the road and into the woods. your 3 point can lift more than your FEL and draging 1/2 the weight makes it easier. My tractor is 41hp and I would say I could drag a 3000lb rock.

Also, if you're not moving them far, use a set of long forks and pry them where you want them. I did that with a big granite rock and my tractor did it without breaking a sweat.

Thanks for the feedback. That's what I am thinking. It might not be easy but I should be able to manipulate decent size rocks with a 60HP tractor even if I can't fully lift them off the ground.
