Would all of the above discussion about the 4310 be applicable as well to a 4410 as far as reliability and number of hours?

Mig......I believe that the only real difference between these models was a few HP....sorta like the 3120, 3320, 3520, 3720 - its all about an increase in HP.

You can check out these models on Tractorhouse.com or specs via google. I beielve this series of tractors was pretty much the fore-runners to the 20 series above listed.

100% Correct.

In the 42/43/4410 lineup the only one with a difference other than horsepower is the 4210. It had lower hydraulic capacity and pressure for a lower 3PH rating. The wheelbase is also three inches shorter. But for your question, yes, only 4310 to 4410 difference is horsepower.

I was hoping to be able to get video clips to at least be able to listen to the engine/transmission but that request hasn't gone over well with sellers.

I think it is reasonable to make this request, and more and more sellers
(dealers and owners) are making videos and sending them or posting them
on YouTube. It has gotten much easier to do.

You may also consider paying someone nearby to go and look at/video
the tractor in motion. I paid a service $100 for an inspection on a
car last year....they emailed pix within an hour of the inspection. I know
that was for a car, but maybe a tractor dealer in that area will do it
for you?

Finally, that seems kind of high in this current depressed market. With some
of the incentives, you may be able to land a NEW Bobcat CT230 for $15K.

Note that if you drive all the way to that dealer, you will not have much
leverage if you decide to offer less than the seller is asking.

Thanks for the replies. My question was aimed more towards the reliabilities of the models. If the 4410 has had more service issues than the 4310, etc. Also, does there seem to be any difference in the reliabilities between the 2002 and 2004 years of manufacture?

Maybe someone will buy that 4310 for that price but it won't be me.

Yep...same tractor for all intents and purposes (except for the engine).

Anyways he said that the "best he could do" on price was 15,900. Which I think is quite inflated for what the machine is.

You cannot do this kind of negotiation over the phone or by e-mail. You need to be face to face with 14.5 grand in your pocket to make that deal.
Put it this way...to that dealer, you're a "tire kicker"...couple of phone calls or e-mails...but he hasn't seen any green being offered.
When I made my deal for that 790 (about 400 miles from me), the deal was basically done within three days (however, that was a very low hour machine).

If you're serious about that tractor, head down to PA and give it a good looksee and test run.

At this point, you need to crap, or get off the pot...

I picked up my JD 4300 2001 model(430 loader, canopy, R4 tires, and JD 5ft finish mower) from a private seller back in January of this year for $9300. It does have a lower broken upper 3pt mount (which I've yet to fix [around $450 for the part]) but it works great so far for my needs. Also had the thermistor go out ($4).

430 loader works great for moving dirt and lifting heavy implements off of the trailers. I've put about 30 hours on it so far this year. I could not be happier.
Mine will run all day on a tank of fuel. After about 6 hours of shredding (540rpm) it still has about 1/2 tank.

Good luck with your purchase; great little tractors.

I have bought quite a few things over the phone...and got treated very fair on most of 'em.......including the 3320 I now have. These dealers do lots of deals by phone and internet these days Roy.....your just old fashioned. ;)

However.....I think its lots easier to buy new stuff via the phone as its all about specs and price at that point. When it comes to trades or used stuff....I agree that dealing in person may be best solution....but the dealer has to be in the ball park to want to do the travel. I'm not too sure his price is too hot....at least not in my market place.
