How much HP needed for a 72" belly mower?

Not sure I understand the question. The engine powers both but the mid pto is geared to run approx 2000 rpm, the rear has 2 speed options one is 540 and the other option is higher speed rpm but I don't recall.

So both the mid and rear PTO are 19 HP for the B2620? For some reason I have always kind of assumed the mid PTO would be 26 HP and the rear PTO would be 19 HP on the B2620 for example, but I guess they are both 19HP.

I'm betting the rear pto has more HP/torque than the mid, it's all about the gearing!

Looking at Kubota parts on line: There is no 72mmm listed in the parts. Just a 54" and 60".

There will be no comparison between your 19hp gas Cub and what you are now considering. A 60" pto drive shaft deck on the B2620 will be way more productive and powerful than your Cub 42" deck. Again no comparison. For a 72" deck you probably would have to jump up one size to a B3200. Or the new B2650 if no b3200's are available.

B2620 max belly deck is 60 inch. Local dealer had one for sale with a 72 inch rear finish mower.

B2650 and B3350 have 72 inch belly mowers. Is there any differance in the B2650 and B3350 besides the extra HP?

My 17 hp B7200 does fine with a 60 belly mower. My F2560 is 25 hp with a 60 inch deck. I have yet to find grass that will bog this mower down. If you can push it over it, it will cut it. Diesel power is no comparison to gas.

Ok, it was not a 72" belly mower on the B2620 but a rear finish mower. I would test drive the unit and mow some tall thick grass. It would probably be fine.

I don't have experience with the 2650 or 3350. Check specs on Kubota.Com.
