How much would a good gasoline motor cost compared to a diesel?

Our Impala's max torque occurs at 5300rpm.

You’d have to have the engine with a diesel like power band. Having to re design the equipment for a higher RPM engine would take away whatever cost advantage they might have had.

Yes! With steam power I only need water I can collect from the downspouts and the same fuel I use for the house...FIREWOOD! The heater adjustment is how close you sit next to the firebox.

Those old steam tractors produce enormous heat. I can’t imagine having to work one of those in the summer.

But it's DRY heat! lol Actually, the Radiator in my non A/C Kubota cab is inside the cab, and I figured (espcially since I HATE heat) that it would be unbearable in the summer, but it's not. On the flipside, the doors hardly get closed in the winter. Only if a wind is coming through, and then sometimes only one.

I was serious about the merits of steam. You enjoy the electricity you have, mostly by virtue of Steam.

I call those green houses on wheels. I’d never buy a cab machine without ac.

I have my trusty bus driver fan! lol In and out of AC on a hot day, can make you very sick! Fine, if you are staying in the cab.
