How tight are your chains?

When I purchased my 3320...due to lack of clearance for chains I did install screw in studs

MAXIGRIP ICE STUDS | Tire Studs | Winter Studs

They do obviously do help on ice but do nothing in snow/mud

This summer I installed wheel spacers which made is possible to install chains...in the attached photo of the chains you can make out the studs..3 per lug (front and rear)

The studs on the chains are obviously much "beefier" than the screw in type...I have used this type of chains on my previous tractor...helps with traction and helps "rough up" my driveway (400 ft downhill to road) when it get covered with a sheet of ice.

Have you ever put any on the front to help with plowing?

If you are asking about the studs...yes I did stud both front and rear....if you are asking about chains,,,no, I only put chains on the rear tires

They are heavy duty tensioners (got a set) and there is a binder tool (which I have...now) available to install those tensioners.

One thing shown in whistlepig's picture is the hooks that tie the tensioner into the chain are in the wrong direction. The hook ends should not be against the tire sidewall. Whistlepig knows this, BTW, as he posted that pic a year ago and someone made note of it then. The error was acknowledged and corrected back then.

I did turn the hooks around thanks to fellow TBN member suggestions. I did buy the binder tool to install the spring tensioners but found it was much easier to use a couple of ratchet tie down straps to install the tensioners instead of the binder tool.

Whistlepig - Where did you get those chains/who makes them? I really like how they seem to ensure there will be metal in contact with the ground.
