( entire gun goes in the trash can, new cartridge and all...Tuesday calls for a trip to Harbor Freight or WallyWorld to pick up a new gun...sheesh...FYI, the rest of the day wasn't much smoother )

why not spend the 30 bucks on a lincoln grease gun and never have to buy another. i wouldnt waste my money on a harbor freight one.

Until the greases comes out.

EEEEEEKKKK NO!!!

Some yes others just a pump or two!!
The ball joints usually have rubber boots on them, more than three pumps will blow the rubber boots rendering them usless and allowing dirt and grit to enter the joints!

Over greasing the clutch throw out bearing will screw your clutch up, just one pump on that fitting!
Any on your FEL, yes, until it comes out!

In 99% of the time, too much grease is more harmful than no grease.
I am an electro/mechanic by trade and have seen many a bearing sieze through overgreasing!

Steering...MODERATE greasing.
Open spindle type bearings, like on a FEL, pivet joint on your brush hog rear wheel, loads of grease!

Any ball joint with a boot covering it, no more than three pumps, two should suffice.

The cob webs are being knocked from the brain and I seem to remember a time when grease didn't come in those little convenient cartridges. I think we used to fill from a bucket of grease. Or was this just a way to save $$ then and the cartridges were around but expensive? Of course I'm talking about the "old" days.

I have often wondered about that. How did you fill a grease gun from a bucket? Was there some way to draw it or did you just shovel it in there?
