HP differance between B2620 and B2920

   / HP differance between B2620 and B2920 #11
There is 3hp differance motor and PTO on these two tractors, is it a noticable differance when finish mowing and snow blowing? I know everyone says go bigger but its around 2500-3000 differance at the dealer I checked at.

There is a $855 difference between the 26-2920 on the Kubota's web site. If the dealer quoted you $3000 then he is skinning ya.

When we got ours it was $1000+ from 2320-2620 and $1000+ from 2620-2920

Most dealers will tell you the best deal $ and value wise is the b2620 as you get the stronger la364 fl and bigger tire size from 23-2620.

We got the b2920 because of residential snow removal 24" plus at times and could use the extra HP to get the work done quicker

For us recently it was only $400 more for the B2620 and the B2920 was $800 more than the B2620, and the LA364 loader was $500 more than the LA304 so decided le 26 HP would be enough with the loader. If I would have thought we would need it I would have went for the 29 HP.
If you can check with more than one dealer, pricing is different at each one from what I've seen.

so what did you end up getting?

I have a B2620 and run a 60" rear mount PTO snow blower and operate at 1700 rpm (well below the rated RPM needed to get 540 rpm at the PTO) and at these lower RPM the blower handles snow drifts WAY GREATER than this little tractor can handle.

100% for sure every time I will loose traction in the really deep drifts well before the engine starts to give any signs of strain even at 1700 rpm.

So for me the issue blowing snow is not HP related it is traction related. I slow down to clear the snow due to traction not due to HP. And the blower is blowing the snow in an arc and way far enough that increasing rpm seems like un needed use of rpm's. Sure if I increase rpm's I can move snow a little (very little) quicker so my choice is slightly less tonnes/hr of snow in return for lower rpm.

Tires are not filled but chained.
