Hydraulic Filters from Power Trac

I bought 6 hydraulic filters when I was down at Tazewell and noticed how they didn't have the neat little power trac logo anymore. These filters tell you the manufacturer, part number, etc. I priced these filters on the web and it looks like they go for 30 to 40 dollars. I'm going to continue buying them from PT, just so it gives them a little bit of business. I appreciate the fact that it's a small American company of about 30 employess, probably not making allot of money but enough to make a living and have a sense of pride (the healthy type) in there workmanship.

Thanks for posting. I am currently using the Wix 51551 cross reference mentioned in the sticky thread. A little research on the part number you posted shows that the W in the part number means it is capable of filtering out about a half liter of water. Feel like I need to order place a filter order with power-trac ASAP!

Hmmm. Not sure about this. As I understand it water filtration oil filters are much more restrictive. I am far from an expert on this so ymmv.

Just to add to the confusion, anyone know how long a hydraulic filter can last in a low use environment? I Have another hydraulic machine that gets used enough to keep the oil dry but maybe only 20 hours a year and the manual says change every 200 hours.

20 hours per year won’t keep oil dry unless you live in an arid climate or store the machine in a controlled environment. 3 years would be my limit on filter life.

I am also no expert, but the mfg literature makes it clear that is what the W is for in the part number, and makes no mention of being more restrictive. See pages 6 and 15 of the pdf below:

For reference the MP Filtri part number is CSGW-100-P10A

Amazon wants $55 for this and I haven’t found it anywhere else. $22 at Powertrac seems like a bargain.

Just realized that OP has a PT-1430 vs my PT-425 so please disregard my comments about pricing. However question still remains about whether the OEM PT-425 filters remove water and whether that is desirable.
