That motor appears to have a case drain. They have apparently from what I see plumbed it into the return line and drastically over sized the return line at the 90 degree fitting. If that oversized return line went straight to sump and therefore pressures were low it would work. It would have to be set up to not be able to run in reverseOP, something like this?
Over here is very common to mount these on the brush cutters. These strimmers are either spring loaded or hydraulically actuated with a finger that retracts the head once a tree or post pushes the finger.
