Oh...I forgot. Its a weld on unit. I wanted to build a bolt on unit but there's not really enough room because of the dipper cylinder.

Nice Job and you can not beat the price. I'll bet you could sell quite a few of those here on the forum.

Can I pipe in here at the risk of showing my hydraulic ignorance. I wonder if there is a power beyond port on your backhoe control valve that would allow you to add on another control valve? I was looking over my NH 758c the other day and I thought there was one.

Anybody else know whether or not it has this feature?

I will look again tonight but I guess I will have to take the cover plate off this time to get a good look.

Well, I checked the owners manual and there is a port labeled power beyond on mine. I believe the plug I saw had PB stamped on it also.

If in fact the valve does have a power beyond port, you will need the proper PB adapter sleeve for the port. The sleeve will thread into the port and your hose will connect to the sleeve.

You will then have to make some plumbing changes since the valve will how have 3 hoses you need to worry about. The existing outlet will now be the return to tank hose along with the inlet and PB hoses.

The real trick is to identify the manufacturer of the valve and to see if they have a PB sleeve that can be purchased. Don't expect to get this from your local Kubota, NH or JD dealer either.

If not are we talking about teeing into the return line to the tractor?

You say there are three line to worry about. I'm new to this so bare with me. Wouldn't there be four? feed and return to the tractor hydraulics and feed and return to the piston?

If there is a PB port with a sleeve there will also be an inlet port and return to tank port. Thus 3 hoses.

If a PB sleeve is not installed then the outlet port should go right to tank and this valve should be last in line. Thus 2 hoses.

When the PB sleeve is installed the former outlet port becomes the return to tank port for fluid exhausting from the cylinders and the PB port allows fluid to flow thru (that's why it's called power beyond).

The return to tank line can be teed into the loaders return to tank line. It is the only line that can be teed.

For a spool that works with a double acting cylinder there will also be 2 work port lines that go to the cylinder. These will be present regardless of whether or not a PB sleeve is installed.

So for a single spool valve you could have 4 lines (inlet/outlet/2 work and no PB) or 5 lines (inlet/PB/tank/2 work with PB installed).

I'm confused. What I think I know. there are two line coming from the tractor going to the BH. One feeds fluid the other returns it. From what I am reading I think you are saying we can not simply tee into the feed and return. ??????

As you say the return line is the "only" line that can be teed. Does that mean if there is no PB port there is no way to hook aux hydraulics? We were going to tee into the lines coming from the tractor itslef. It sounds like we can do this.

I hope we did not bite off more than we can chew. I am thuroughly confused now.

Help needed!
