3-Point Hitch Hydraulic top link

   / Hydraulic top link #31
I measured my top link range and it is 17 to 27-3/4".

I'm thinking I need model 6002 16 1/8 in. to 22 7/16 in.

You don't want to measure or order the top link in that manner. Attach an implement and level it with the top link in it's working position. Now measure the length of the top link center to center of each pin. That will give you a working length and you'd want a hydraulic top link to have some inches of throw either side of your measurement.

So if you are currently close to 17 inches with an implement then you are probably right on the 16 inch model but you'll know more with a better starting measurement.

Most stock LS top links are too long to start with and offer little to no retraction.

I was hoping to avoid removing the backhoe and hooking up the Bush Hog just to get a measurement, but may have to. I just remember I had it cranked in with maybe 3/4" - 1" of threads on each end. So since it measured 17" fully compressed center of eye to center of eye, it must have been adjusted out to about 18-1/2" to 19" for the Bush Hog.

That leaves an additional 3-7/16" of extension for other future attachments. I can't image needing it to extend that far though.

This kind of supports my thinking that I want the 6002 16 1/8 in. to 22 7/16 in. model.

Ok, I'm getting closer to purchasing one but not sure which one would be better for me. You both went with the model 6003 18-1/8 - 26-3/8.
I measured my top link range and it is 17 to 27-3/4". So far all I have is a brush hog and if I recall correctly, I had the top link cranked in pretty short with maybe just a few threads on each end showing to get the brush hog leveled right. I'm concerned the 6003 compressed length is too long for me.

Have either of you had situations where you wish you could have retracted the top link in more than the 18-1/8"?

What would you say the length of your top link is most of the time you use them, 1/2 way and less or 1/2 way and more?

I'm thinking I need model 6002 16 1/8 in. to 22 7/16 in.

With my rear grader blade level the cylinder is extended about 3 inches, so it can be pulled back 3 more inches. Even with my 6' rotary cutter on it will lift the back quite high. Hope this helps with your decision.

Just a follow up post. I did get the Model 6002 16 1/8 in. to 22 7/16 in. top link and hoses from TSC. I finally had a chance to hook it up and use it. It was definitely the right length for the MT240 using the disk!
If it had been the longer one, It probably wouldn't allowed it to be leveled properly.
Thanks for all the input!

Bearsixty7 - tight fit there but looks nice. You will want to do something with your hydraulic hoses. Looks like they rub on the lower arm and again on the implement. There are heavy nylon sheaths that will provide protection.

LOL! It is a tight fit on these little Cat 1 tractors.
They look closer than they really are but I adjusted them so that they looped over more and didn't touch anything but I may still cover them just to be extra safe.

Have hydraulic top link for my LS XR4155 , really like it but yes dealing with the extra hoses is a bit of an issue, your hose setup definitely looks a little nicer than mine

Calling all hydraulic gurus
Found this kit
John Deere LoaderMower Mechanical Diverter Valve Kit - LVB25823

Thinking I can plumb a hydraulic top link to it and call it a day. Dont have a hydraulic mid mower mount to worry about.
Alternatively if I dont connect the mechanical diverter can I simply plug the hydraulics to the adapters/splitters that @mtnViewRanch posted in #27 I can then have a complete set of always on hydraulics that I can hook up other implements to also? Its like a power beyond kit..right?
Am I over simplifying it ?

Side note I need to stop looking at all your setups, makes me spend too much money..LOL

@ Suburbanfarmer the factory rear remote kit for my LS240 from my dealer is: "The single valve is 422.45; the dual is 643.48." shipping, tax, install is all additional. I have the dual kit on order.

Not sure of your post was general, or LS since this is the LS forum. If LS, you may want to check into the factory option if it is available for your tractor.
