I dont know how much hood space there is in there but if your wanting to keep things cool, you can always add an addtional switched pusher fan

the one pictured is about a 10" fan

Nice setup. I guess you could even wire it thru a temp sending unit.. so that it turns on when 'x' temp is reached.

Pretty easy to build a circuit like that with a thermocouple and a few supporting parts.. heck.. if you could find a spare port on the hyd block or otherwise similar location to add a sender.. etc... preferably a NO one.. then use that to power a relay.. which in turn powers the fan. When sender gets hot.. it closes the NO contacts thus energizing the coil inthe relay.. etc.

I guess a toggle switch fan could be used too.. ( ho-hum.. )

Chris, Borger and Amarillo are like another country almost due to distance. Texas is a big, big state. About the only thing common to every part of the state is a love for the Lone Star. I don't know exactly why, but we dearly love this hot, dry, critter infested place.:D

I remember my friend ( who lived in borger at the time on a temp job assignment ) telling me he had to get out of there when one day he went to go out to his car and go to work, and was blocke din by a herd of stampeding scorpions...

I get the feeling he was exagerating a little on the scope of the problem.. but he was nonetheless ready to head back to florida shortly thereafter.

Very cool! Now, could this setup remove the fan run by the water pump belt? Would this allow the engine to warm "faster"?

I wouldn't.. that's a hydro oil cooler.. an auxilary system. I don't know if I want to turn my tractors main engine cooling over to an electric fan just yet...
