I have a Mahindra 2615 HST 4wd with fel. Today while working on my land, a limb struck the underside of the tractor and caused my transmission line to start leaking at a rubber hose connection. I got the tractor back to the shop in short order with very little fluid loss. However by the time I fixed the leak, I lhad ost a good bit of transmission fluid so I went ahead and drained the entire system. Unfortunately transmission fluid was all over the place under the tractor. Therefore, I cranked the tractor for about 20 seconds in an attempt to simply move it forward about 3 feet not knowing if there would be enough fluid left in the system to do this. When I pushed the reverse pedal nothing happened but when I pushed the forward pedal I heard a grinding noise and the tractor did not move. I immediately turned the tractor off. Again all of this took place in about 20 seconds. Did I do any harm to my transmission?

I doubt you did any damage, fill the system with fluid again and try it. I believe it will be fine. Good luck!

You should be OK......Actually it's a good idea to run the tractor for about 30 sec with the drain plugs out. This will clear out the residual fluid.
