why I say. If someone says something to you for what ever reason. It's best to walk away and live, than to die trying to be a (he man) in front of others.
I carry a loaded gun everywhere, everyday. But, it someone were to say something to me for what ever reason, I'm not going to go up to them and push them to the ground, or hit them. As soon as I do, I become the aggressor, because I could have walked away. Instead, I became the physical aggressor. Not the one that said something I didn't like.

So, the guy that shot the aggressor, got a bad deal, because he wasn't a physical aggressor, all he did was run his mouth.

The shooter most likely wouldn't have been brought up on charges by the DA in my state

I don稚 think anyone really put themselves into this situation properly.

First assume this guy said something to the girlfriend and she like many told him to F off? He becomes very loud and abusive, yelling using obscenities maybe even looking like he would strike.
The other guy comes out and sees his attitude and aggressive manner, what would a reasonable person do if as he approaches saying get away from my pregnant girlfriend do?
I would have done much worse to him than just push him down as it is reasonable to assume a hot head like this might swing and your child, baby or pregnant girlfriend should be protected.
I honestly don稚 think the guy was very calm in his demeanor while he was saying things to the girlfriend or the man that felt threatened enough to push him down.

So think when someone just has something to say they say it and move on
Somone looking for confrontation raises thier voice, blocks travel paths, approaches at accelerated rates, uses vulgar language and in most cases gets in close to you trying to intimidate you. If you let them get to that point you already lost your defensive stand and when/if they snap or decide to strike you and your girlfriend are now in danger for what comes next.

This was not a civil discussion about illegal parking and as I said there is a lot more to the story than we here know.

No. NEVER in my life have I ever set foot in NYC.

There’s nothing I own that can’t be replaced. In fact, the keys are in my pickup and tractors most of the time. We live in a very rural area with few neighbors and the county sheriff is likely at least 30-45 minutes out. If a criminal is brave enough to come up my 1/2 mile long driveway, with intentions on stealing something, stays out of my house, leaves me and my wife alone while doing so, then I’m going to be an easy “victim”. However, that’s not how I would handle a situation if someone decides to come inside our home, or we are in a situation where there’s a physical threat. I would stand my ground with deadly force if needed, and deal with the consequences thereafter. I’ve been around mortally wounded humans, it’s not a pleasant experience.

And if the guy who did the shooting gets out in 10 years (if he's lucky to get out alive after some of the black boys find out what he's in for), although he may be alive, do really think he'll have much of a life to go back to? Not even addressing the civil matter and declared bankruptcy the guy will go probably go through.

What it seems you fail to realize is that there is no getting a "best" per how this confrontation played out.

The guy with the gun got into ANOTHER argument, this was his second. The first guy got away because he probably walked away. My point is the guy with the gun opened his door to his future by being a loudmouth with a gun.

Carry a gun, keep your mouth shut, period. No talking, no looking funny or hand gestures at the other person, just walk away to ensure you don't have to use your gun. YOU have to show that in no way shape or form, you didn't start any ***** to begin with that made you use your gun in defense of your own life in your opinion.
