When we leave the house, we set the AC on 85. The heat just doesn't seem to bother us.

Southern California ain't all that dry with all the lawn sprinklers running. As for handling it Corn starch in your shorts helped a lot. Here in Tennessee I've graduated to preforlded diapers. You can git 'em at Kmart. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

80 is the perfect temperature to leave your A/C on all the time during the summer -- with the ceiling fans. That's what I've always done living in Florida and Maryland. The A/C removes the humidity and keeps the house cooler than the outside temperature/humidity. It always feels good when coming in from outside. I can see maybe lowering it to 78, but anything lower is just wasting money and energy.

I never would have been talked into buying a pool if the house didn't already have one when we bought it, but on days like today (and most of the summer in fact) its a quick dip first thing, a quick dip before bed and probably 4-6 more 2 minute swims throughout the day...keeps me nice and cool and makes summer downright bearable! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Give me the humidity/hot temperatures and dry ground...I can get a lot of work done and not have to fight the mud....work and sweating is good for a man.... !!!

Gees, I literally spend about 15 minutes a week on our pool. That includes cleaning the skimmers, backwashing the filter, adding a new chlorine cartridge, checking the chemical levels, and putting the robot in for cleaning. We love it and the upkeep has been very minimal. I may not actually spend 15 minutes a week on it. That robot was fairly expensive, but it apparently takes all the work out of keeping the pool clean.
