You are going to let her date? Man, you take much greater risks than I would.
Oh did I mention she won't be dating until she is 21? :D And when he comes to pick her up I will show him my Sharp shooting trophies and be cleaning the shot gun..........

Shortly after my divorce in 1980, ex wife's attorney became a judge; a VERY liberal judge. Most criminals were happy to appear before him because of his reputation for leniency, however one particular customer felt he was given too lengthy of a vacation- he wanted some payback! How about an unauthorized fender-bender, bumper crushing, ditch cleaning mud ride in His Honor's much loved Nissan 280 ZX Anniversary Edition reserved only for parades, and such?

People were amazed how fast that a person could change his views concerning the length of jail time needed to rehabilate the dregs of our society.

That's the problem with most judges, seems like here in Canada and in the States, although our judges hand out insanely ridiculous short sentences!!!! Judges are too isolated, they dont see what we do, especially not what I do when I'd bring in a doped up gas sniffer that was caught in a house stealing and just cr@pped his pants.

By the time the judge sees him, he's clean, shaved and wearing a suit!!!! If you want to show what he looked like that night of the arrest then the judge has to rule if it's "prejudicial" to his case so most of the time, all the judge and (if) jury see is Mr Clean who made a "mistake".

You can't even enter the previous 10 times he did a crime because that is prejudicial, it can only be entered at sentencing. The whole North American system sucks it seems. Most of our problems in Canada are sentencing, the crime is usually well proven because our Crowns (Canada version of DA's) are pretty picky about going to court. We have a saying in my unit. OJ would not have gotten off in Canada...but he would have been sentenced to 6 months! :(

Actually I suspect that a big part of the problem is that it costs a lot of money to house criminals and judges know that. Most people do not want to pay the amount of taxes it would cost to properly build enough jails and staff them to hold criminals for just their entire sentences. Judges try to get the people that are dangerous to society off the streets and then do what they can with the rest.

Last year I caught a pair of crack heads in my son's home. After a long chase thru the woods and swamp their day was ruined. Five very wet state troopers were not liking the day also. After months of delays we finally had our day in court. We had the most liberal judge in the county that day, but she did see it our way and gave the max to one of the crack heads. (He was already on release at the time of my son's break in for anther break in at a store.) The sentence was 27 to 36 months minimum! My son received a letter 4 months after this day in court and they had already let him out! Here in VERMONT their is very little follow thru on law and common sense. It seems like a cost ratio, full incarceration or furlough. This place is for the criminals for sure. The system up here rewards the scumbags and gives them free rides that you and I pay for. They say small town life is nice, but when you really know who and whats going on around you maybe not?

Any we all accept the biggest theives, the U.S. Government. As far as individual theives go, the great stoic philosopher Epictetus (or was it Marcus Aurelius rather? read both -- can't remember) tells us of an individual that worked very hard to buy a lantern which was only to be stolen by a theif. He compares the two, speaking of the money and work it took to buy the lamp/lantern but assures us that it cost the price of being a thief to get it from him. Think of what it means and costs to be a thief (place in society, untrusting and untrusted, etc), you're much better off then him/them.:)

Ouch! That left a mark.. I don't believe the high tension cables are copper anyhow. The transformer would have copper..

Some of the old ones are still copper, but maybe he was after the aluminum? We used to make the steel core wire or the steel core cable for transmission lines, and every now and then when we screwed up, they would cut out the piece of the whole cable and send to us, for us to see just what we messed up. A six inch piece of aluminum cable supported by a 19wire 1" steel core cable makes a heathy show piece when you put it in the dept that made the mistake.

Pictures taken in Johannesberg South Africa. Not to complain, but I think the pictures are inappropriate given the fact that curse words are taken out...
