I'll bet I've checked a million dollars worth of groceries, in 1960's dollars...and I can only remember one customer that really got under my skin, and he's the only one I fired back at. I think he had been drinking, made a racial slur, and I told him to get out of the store and not come back.

I once had a waitress practically throw the plates of food on the table after having a little issue with her regarding long wait times, when I had asked how long a meal would take, and would have gladly left and eaten elsewhere, itf I deemed the wait too long. I gave her a big tip. I like a little fire in my waitress!

It has been a year and she is long gone but I have only been to the store twice in a year. I am not a delicate person, but I do not like being talked to that way.

This happened a year ago? Let it go....it's not worth it. How the clerk pokes the screen for lotto tickets is nothing compared to large issues like cancer, heart failure, or identity theft. Learn to let the little things slide...............:drink:

On a different note...next time you get good service at a restaurant, make it a point to compliment and thank the staff...including an appropriate tip. You might be surprised at the responses you get. I concluded that compliments are few and far between in that business. My daughter used to wait tables, and rude and unappreciative customers are not unusual. Seems some folks like to display their superiority over folks just trying to make a living.

I was paying for my oil change and after the woman gave me my change I said "Thank you ma'am"

Well, that did it, she lit into me how she is NOT A MA'AM and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. I forgot the rest as I was too stunned to remember all the yammering after her being offended.

I just looked at her and said " I understand MA'AM"

That went better than the time I asked a cashier when she was due......and as the blood drained out of her face she said "I'm not pregnant" ......yep that was the last time I ever went back there. Oooops

I tip according to the service I get. I've tipped $100.00 on a ham sandwich because I felt sorry for the single pregnant Mom to be at Christmas. I've also tipped one penny and a five-star class restaurant.

I was there to impress my new Mother in law and my new bride to be. The waiter took our order and we never saw him again. The bus"person" delivered our food and was all over us with service. Never a need for anything.

At the end of a VERY expensive meal, I tipped the bus person 30% CASH, and I said don't give any of this to the waiter.

The waiter actually came out to the parking lot screamed some obscenities and threw the penny ay us.

To think she still married me.

I remember a guy that does Seminars about understanding Women's behavior. He said he bought a hamburger at MacDonalds for Lunch, thanked the kid and the kid says he wa the first person to say thank you that day. That was already many years ago. Is that possible?
