I need help deciding on new trailer

What about going with a dump bed. For a little more you get to haul your gear, and teh plus is you can fill er up and dump and clean up if the job calls for it. That's what I'm about to do with min Cat track loader.

You can get them made with D ring holders in the floor and ramps for loading vehicles, and a winch if you need one.

I don't like single use trailers. A dump is always handy for clean up, getting gravel, trash pick up, fire wood, etc.

I use a dump trailer to haul my Bobcat S185. It was ordered with ramps, 3 way tailgate and tarp roller. It works but the width is tight, just a couple inches to spare on each side of the skid steer tires.
If I hauled the skid steer very much I'd definitely go with the tilt bed like George has. Had a beaver tail and it's not the best option for uneven areas or pulling into/out of driveways that are on an incline from the street.

I don't really need any extra width so I don't see the advantage of drive over fenders for me. I can see were deck overs would be handy for somethings but not for most of my use. I would like to find one with side rails they have come in very handy on my smaller utility trailer. The idea of a tilt deck has really caught my interest I'm going to do some more research on it. Looks like it might be much safer to load and unload. To me that might justify the extra cost.

Tilt deck works great for moving one thing but they are a pain moving multiple items. For example say you want to load a few implements then the tractor.

A flat deck trailer with slide in ramps and rails is what I have and seems to be the most versatile.

Hi A gooseneck tilt deck would be the way to go or a tagalong .the trailer I use to haul my 1710 4 X4 diesel tractor with A trailer I built, it was 16 ft and a 2ft beavertail with removable ramps if I wanted, it was a tight fit with the bush hog on the tractor with the ramps up ,I would look at the 20' trailer a PJ or BigTex.

Maybe so, but there are partial tilt decks. Several feet at the front are stationary and the rear portion tilts for loading. If the time ever comes that I find myself transporting the skid steer more than a couple of times I year I'd go this route.

That's a really good point Chris, I'm always hauling multiple things. A friend of mine who has a large dump trailer said he's no longer using his 20 foot 14 k flat bever tail. He asked if i would store it for him and use it whenever I would like. What luck, now I can try out a bever tail and other things before I make my decision.

My trailer (Texas Pride)is a 25' with a 2' dove tail. 16,000gvw with 8,000# axles with brakes on all 4 wheels.

That's a nice trailer. How much would a new one like that sell for today? It's not a gooseneck, right?

I had 2 trailers with drive over fenders and normally whatever is that wide is too heavy for a small trailer anyway. New trailer has removable fenders if needed and a equipment dove. Been happy so far. Tilts are sweet but when they are snow/ice covered they are spooky at best. CJ

I have a 14K 96"x20' PJ flat deck. I think you want at least a 20' but, if I was you Id get a 22'. I tend to fill my trailer up with all kinds of other stuff and run out of room. I also prefer a flat deck trailer. It makes it nice for hauling logs and lumber. As you can see I fill mine up haha

Tractors, in general, are much longer than any CTL or SSL, thus requiring a longer trailer. Plus if you want to take any impliments with you there will not be enough room. I will likely be buying one of these in the spring
