I need quick release truck tool box.

I need a tool box. My 4 door truck is a wreck with all the stuff that is always in the floor of the backseat and in the truck bed. I need to be able to take the box out about 1n'e a month or so to put my diesel tank in and get fuel for the tractor. I can't be the first guy with this problem. How did you guys fix this? I want to be able to carry all the straps, and tools that I need and a small chainsaw in the tool box.

The problem isn't the toolbox, it's the weight of all that stuff inside the toolbox.
I have a plastic Delta toolbox that fits inside the truck bed but I have to unload about 2/3 of the stuff that is stored in it to be able to handle it alone. The alternative is to put the forks on my FEL and lift it that way.

I've got the standard bed wide, over the side toolbox. It's got 4 J bolts that hold it to the sides of the truck and it fits right behind the cab. I imagine most of them are that way. Takes about 10 minutes to undo. My straps, chains, small stuff are in milk crates so when I go to unload it I only have to grab 2 or 3 milk crates plus the other big stuff, then lift the toolbox out.

But it moves around.

BUT - How big is that fuel tank and why can't it coexist with a toolbox?

Can't you rig something up so the tank sits between the toolbox and the tailgate?

My question is how big is your diesel tank that it won't fit in the pickup bed behind the tool box.

Have you looked at any of the "Fuel and tool" boxes? That might be an option.

Can't you just lift your toolbox out with your pallet forks?

I use two j hooks with the toolbox. Just takes a few minutes to take them out, slide the box back, and lift out with ssqa pallet forks.

When I am putting the tank in the truck I will have pallet forks on the FEL. So that is easy. The tank is 100 lbs. mounted to a plastic pallet. The bed is 6'3 inches. It is possible that it would fit with the tool box but the weight would be behind the rear wheels. I don't like that setup for mountain roads.

I put a DeeZee transfer tank / tool box combo in my truck. I need to fill my equipment and generators as well as have straps, chainsaw, etc locked up in the back. I couldn't have done it without it. I put a 15gpm pump on it and wired it to the upfitter switches in the cab of the truck.

I only got it white to match the truck and bought this particular one because it was also low profile and allows me to still tow my fifth wheel, etc.

Sorry, I just re-read my earlier post and saw that I said it is 100 lbs. It is 100 gallons.

I suppose a combination tank/tool box would work, but I really don't want to haul the fuel all over with me. I keep the tank on my Farm which is about 120 miles from home. I drive the truck back and forth. That is a lot of extra weight to be hauling all the time. I'm gonna look into the tool boxes with the Jhooks. I would only be doing it about once a month at most, so it should be that big of a deal for me if the process is only about 20 minutes to take the tank off and 20 to reattach it.
