I Need to Custom Fit a TiTan SSQA Plate-Advise Welcome

Brought my 3/8" plate along home tonight and it doesn't fit the SSQA loader. It is made from 4 separate pieces (top / main body / two bottom pieces). There's an approx. 5/16" gap at the bottom between the plate and my SSQA tabs. The pin stops about 1/2" short of going down. I dropped Titan an email a few minutes ago offering to send pictures. I sure hope they address it quickly like they did for you, since I'm ready to start the snow plow build now.

Totally agree. This is my first purchase with Titan and have to try replacement tomorrow and if it good I am good with Titan.

True, but a PATTERN of doo-doo is a different matter. For example, here's a thread from 2015 when they were making them too big.

Titan may be getting them from multiple source suppliers. It doesn't take long for a "new guy" on the brake press to crank out a bunch of bad ones in a row, if no one is double checking his work.

Where's the quality control at the factory? They should have a inspection jig so they can check fit once in a while.

I worked in both Quality Control and as Manufacturing Engineer for several years with a major heavy equipment company. We would have had a jig to hold the one made of five pieces but the one I received yesterday there was nothing for a jig to hold. With the experience I have had can easy understand how such can and does happen. Maybe Titan is guilty of buying parts for sale that have not been inspected as close as should be. But before you beat them up have you ever put a part on any machine only to find out it did not work?

I also managed a QC department, and I find your statement strange. There is always a way to check a part otherwise how do you know if it was made properly?

And as another poster said, a pattern of defects is different than an isolated problem.

Nothing wrong with changing suppliers to get the best price, but they need to do their job to qualify the supplier and monitor them. The lowest price is rarely the lowest cost.

The OP is talented enough to fix the defect, but others may not be. I am in the "others" category.
