In 1970....M970 is the first skid-steer loader to use a lever-actuated attachment mounting system (what would be called Bob-Tach) in place of pin-on mounting which allows operators to easily switch attachments. The Bob-Tach system -- simplified changing of attachments. After the Bob-Tach patent expired, other manufacturers adopted the same design, and today it is the global ISO standard. Update - Titan shipped a nice SSQA plate that was received at my work location on Wednesday, just as they promised. The plate was quite a bit nicer than the first one. The build is done in time for the snow we might get tomorrow. The email Titan sent was interesting:

"Thanks for contacting Titan! I do apologize for the slight quality issue you are having with our mount plate. I was able to place an order for our United Attachment 3/8" mount plate to ship to you and sent you an email confirmation. These come from a manufacturer we use in the USA and have tend to have more accurate dimensions. I see that you have another ticket open as well. I will be closing that one as well. We appreciate your business and hope you have a great weekend ahead!"

It sounds like all of their imported stock questionable so they are sourcing them from a USA fab shop.

I also had a small fitment issue. I fixed it and called titan regarding it. I now just build my own. It's easy and I clamp it to the quick attach setup so nothing moves while burning it in. I've made 6 so far with no problems. The titan plate had an issue at the bottom where the pin slides through and the top angle was too short of a plate piece. I just cut the bottom and welded it back together and added plate to lengthen the top angle. Haven't had issues with that plate. The new plates have a wider angle piece on top so there is no chance of the quick attach sliding off. I've been experimenting with plate thickness and putting them to the test of bending. Most of my plates are 3/16 with 1/4 top angle and bottom angle. Nothing has moved on them and I cut and haul large hardwoods for splitting to heat my house and workshop.

Wow, I'm glad I found this thread. I too ordered a QA plate from Titan around the same time as many of you, and also had problems fitting it. Strange thing is, I brought it to work and tried the plate on a Bobcat set up and it fit on their much better, granted that setup has been used for years and could be an older setup that's worn down. BUT I did take some measurements and found it was around a 1/2" short of the over all 18.5" they say it is. Luckily I haven't welded anything on it yet, as I've been busy with other projects, so I guess dropping them an email might help my problem.
