sounds like a bad dealer, i went to my jd dealer in the rain..wanted to look at the machines. after talkin with the sales guy..i said lets go look..he said nope..just a sec, let me get a guy to pull each into the garage so you can take your time. ( 3 different machines) on /off the loader, imatch, etc etc ..took his time...then out back to his storage for a tour...lookin at the differences between hd bucket, regular etc..reason why i bought it over a kubota...opposite experience there, great machine..crappy dealer

I'd complain and holler at the sales reps boss. Tell it like it is. Say you took off an extra day thinking the tractor would get a ful service (or at least cleaned up and the oil checked) and that all they did was drop and load it on the trailer.

I bet if you do that, they come and get it and do a full service with a spit shine and bring it back. Don't go back to the same sales rep. Find out who his boss is and go their.

Also, don't wait to do it. Do it at as soon as possible. The more time goes buy, the less serious they will take this. I know this isn't how a business sholud be run, but in this day and age, it's pretty much the norm (unfortunatly).

And this is so sad. In our day and age with all the technology there is no excuse for busness to be done this way. Tri-green must be just riding on the John Deere name and forgot just how many other brands are out there. My family went out to eatwith a buddy tonight. After I told how this week went he said he was going to the kioti dealer in the morning. He's not going to take a chance.

It' not the color of tractor. In my experiences, I would rate John Deere deaers as good as any for the most part. I've been in more good quality Deere dealers than any, and thatis one of the reason I own one. Kioti, not so much. Their are some good Kioti dealers (excellent ones like Wallace who posts on this site) but way too many fly by night Kioti dealers that look like they are working out of a used car lot.

Unfortunately, you ran into a bad dealer. It could be just a bad sales rep as well for not informing the crew to get the sold tractor ready. It might be a super dealer that had one bad day and will make it right for you. It maybe a horrible dealer that you should have stayed away from entirely. At your stage it is still an unkown. You need to call them and see if they will make this right or you will never know.

As was mentioned earlier, address this with someone up the food chain from the salesman, now. I keep my digital camera ready at all times, time and date stamp pics to document any and all concerns, makes proof indisputable. Get some satisfaction or you'll be miserable for a long, long time.

And no, this is not nor could not have any reflection on John Deere, just a poorly run dealership.

just curious why you didn't say something at the time of purchase? if you wait for someone to read your mind you'll be waiting for a long time. and there are plenty of other jd dealerships that want your buisness. better luck next time.

Pretty good question. Like I said, this week alone I've taken off work 3 days to buy this tractor. This only should have taken 1 day 2 tops. The saleman ran my appacation Feb. 2nd, JD approved me Feb. 4th. The saleman and I took a week to finish putting a deal together. There was 2 tractors that fits the bill of what I need. A 5310 and a 5300. It took them untell Feb. 15th to decide they where not going to fix the 5310. I would have to buy the tractor first then pay them $300 to fix it. But they could'nt put into writing that it would only take $300 to fix. I decided to go w/ the 5300. Now Feb. 2nd the salesman asked if I wanted to put any money down and I said no if I did'nt have to. Told me to dont worry about it. He would take care of it. Then all of a sudden he wants 10% down. Feb. 2nd when I left at closing time this guy and me had an agreement. I agreed on a price on the 5310 if they where to fix the diesel leak, or the 5300 either without any money down and I was delivering the tractor myself cause they dont deliver. I did'nt say anything cause I'm tired. I've put way to much into this and everyday it was something new. I would have never said anything untell I found the oil and coolant very low. If I would have checked the oil at the dealership the machine would have still be there today.
I talked withthe store manger today twice. When I called he wanted to look into it and call me back. He called me back and said he could'nt find anywhere where the saleman and I ever talked about the tractor being cleaned or checked over. He does'nt know why I could'nt have taken the tractor home tuesday other than the paperwork was'nt signed. Of course he does'nt know why they where'nt drawn up tuesday. He said he was sorry for my ill feelings for their busness. I made myself clear I would not drive the 45 miles again to do busness w/ them again. I reckon if I'm going to buy green hay equiment I'm going to have to drive 67 miles. I dont know if I'm willing to do that or not.

Sounds like the manager has gone a step further to prove why they do not deserve your business. If they require a discussion to specify a tractor on their lot should be cleaned or checked, they must have few repeat customers.

This sounds like an unfortunate series of events leading up to some buyers remorse. I guess you have to ask yourself if you are just plain sorry that you bought that tractor.

I guess I would talk to the manager some more, in as calm a manner as possible. Does your bill of sale say "as is, as shown"? If not then I think you have the right to make some assumptions. While you couldn't expect them to service the tractor unless you specified that in the agreement, change fluids, and filters, etc., I think that you could assume that they would pressure wash it, and check fluid levels, etc. I would also expect that they wouldn't use "your" tractor after the agreement, and deposit.

It's too bad that you waited some time to deal with it, but I can understand, given work pressures, and the excitement of getting the tractor. My state has a grace period after major purchases, to cover those situations where major items are bought under impulse, and then regretted, etc. Perhaps your state does too? Still, talking to the manager /owner is your best recourse. I would be as honest, and calm with them at this point as you would like them to be with you. Admit that you were upset, but talk towards a positive resolution of your situation. They really don't want to lose a customer, and they certainly don't want a bad taste about their dealership circulated on the internet, and in your area. You are in business too, think about how you would want a customer to deal with the things you are feeling, and also think about what you would be willing, or not willing to do for that person given the right approach. If you made a mistake, you don't have to tell us, but be honest with yourself.

Sorry if this sounds like preaching........ it is not. I have been guilty in the past of following the same road you are on, and learned that there is a better way, with fewer regrets.
