I Want to Build The Ultimate Root rake/Grapple

All of you have some fine looking grapples, I finally got my rear in gear and purchased some steel Friday, over 1,500 pounds of various shapes and it's still undecided exactly how it will go, I should have called a rake/grapple, keep the nice ideas coming

JB, We know the feeling LOL I have the bottom piece cut ( 3 X 5 X 1/4 square tube )and I hate working with rusty metal it takes forever to grind it clean, I also have my 28 teeth ( 1" X 3" x 18" flat stock ) cut also, I thought I took pictures of them but I guess not. It will be seven feet wide with fifteen teeth on the bottom with thirteen more on the top and it will be mostly a huge rake

Are you building a grapple or something to clear mines in front of an M1A1?

How strong is your loader? Mine lifts 2700lbs and I do fine with a 48" grapple of 3/8 mild steel that weighs 280lbs. Haven't done any damage other than scraping the paint off during root grappling, rock lifting, stump manhandling and brush clearing.

I wish mine was that strong, it will only lift 1,750 and it's mostly gonna be a wide rake, we have lots of sand in Florida and the rocks that most of you hate, we would love to have some of them. Living in Florida is like living on a sandbar with homes on it

Your loader is Rated to lift 1750 lbs actually it will lift double that b4 the rear wheels come off the ground. Maybe a bit more if its counterweighted.

Doing great Ken, I know that and even more if I have 24 gallons of diesel and full hydraulic fluid.
I have a 10 foot 9 inch boom and I have picked 1,031 pounds with it extended before, very tippy but it went up
I had to reload my windows XP and lost all my bookmarks and such, I will visit you soon

My 3 sons, all under 3 senario has finally come to a end, (oldest turned 3, babies are sleeping all nite) so now that summer contracts are winding down, I have some keyboard time again.
