I Wonder What He Was Thinking

My oldest brother takes his kids on the tractor all the time, even as babies, with earmuffs and seatbelts...

He made a bench, on which 2 of them can be tied up with ropes. Thats a lot safer than having them running around and having to anticipate on them.

when i'm helping my other brother feeding a bale to the horses in the field, i INSIST that his 2 year old son is with me in the cab, not running loose while my brother is minding the horses while letting me through the gate.
When the kid is in the seat of an enclosed cab, i dont have to watch him. If he's running loose, i dont know where he'll be in seconds.

When im using my cabless 3011, i want all children to be holding mummy's hand, OR being locked behind the wire meshed front garden.


MY rule is: Kids are locked away, OR with me in the cab so i dont have to anticipate on them.

Dang.. That's just awfull.

I'm not defending the father.. but .. I'm quite sure that no punishment that 'we' can think up could be worse than what's he's already going thru.

The kicker is.. that I can rememebr riding the tractor with my grandfather while he was discing or mowing.. did it for hous at a time.. no cares at all.. then riding on the floorboard down the road on the way home.. standing there holding on to the fender...

I think in this case.. both of em' need some prayers.. etc.

I think soundguy said it well.

I would be pretty hypocritical to fault him in what happened, we can all criticize after the fact, knowing how it turned out.

I am sure he will rethink that decision for the rest of his life.
