Code: 50-54: Swash Plate Not In Neutral
Description:
A Code 50-54 occurs when the Drive Controller detects the Swash Plate sensor is not in the neutral range of 2.2 – 2.8 volts. If a Code 50-54 occurs, drive will be disabled.
Possible Cause:
Hydraulic pump is not physically centered. Refer to the Service Manual.
Signal wire 3550 shorted to a ground or voltage source.
Ground wire 2600 open.
Swash Plate sensor.
Code 50-19 "Swash Plate Sensor Out Of Range High".
Code 50-20 "Swash Plate Sensor Out Of Range Low".
Code 50-35 "Servo Coil Maximum Current".
Code 50-49 "Brake Coil Short To Battery (Coil Return)".
Drive Controller.
Moisture, corrosion, or pushed back pins in the Drive Controller connectors, Swash Plate sensor connector, or wire harness. See Electrical Systems Connector Maintenance in Technical Information.
If the code is intermittent and not on at the time of testing, the cause of the code may not be found at this time. Probable causes may include: loose connections, corrosion, pushed back pins, the controller, the wire harness or a combination of these problems. Refer to Troubleshooting Intermittent Electrical Faults Procedures in Technical Information.
Conditions for Code:check Swash Plate sensor signal wire 3550 for a short to ground or supply voltage. Does wire 3550 check OK?
Go to Step 2. Repair or replace wire harness.
2 Check continuity on ground wire 2600. Does wire 2600 have continuity?
Go to Step 3. Repair or replace wire harness.
3 Place the machine on jack stands. Disconnect the Swash Plate sensor. A Code 50-19 “Swash Plate Sensor Out of Range High” will occur. Warning: Make sure all bystanders and tools are clear of wheels! Start the Tool Cat, do the wheels rotate?
Internal problem with the pump. Replace Swash Plate sensor.
