Gotta love kids:laughing:

Here are a few more pics. Dont look like much done, but a bunck of small stuff. Motor accessories, covers under the trans/rear end, brakes on and adjusted, TA and main clutch adjusted, and the IPTO on and adjusted.

No more pics yet but some progress updates. I'll get some pics later this afternoon.

Had to repair the gas tank. It had epoxy on the bottom, so I figured it leaked at one time. But the epoxy was all cracked. Ground that off with a wire wheel and noticed it was soldered under. So thats why it wasnt leaking.

My intent was to weld the hole and put a patch over it. But solder and weld dont mix, so I re-soldered, tested for leaks, and put some more epoxy over that.

Also did some work on the hydraulic lines. One was re-welded before but looked like crap, one was brazed and looked good. Ground out the old weld and re-welded, but the brazed line was pretty close to the weld and I was worried it still might leak. So I welded the tube on the inside also and used a die grinder to clean that back up. Hopefully it wont leak now.

On the sheetmetal that surrounds the gas tank and steering wheel, there were some busted 10-32 screws in there. The switches and gauges are in separate covers that go screw into this piece. Was able to extract a few of the screws, but other ones that were broke, were just band-aided with teck screws, hole was too big, and not centered. So I welded them up, and re-drilled and tapped.

Got all of those parts painted this morning, so I may be able to do some more assembling this afternoon.

In the meantime, I got to work on cleaning up the rear wheels and front axle parts. I need to break the rear wheels off the rims, cause there were some patches on the wheels that look pretty bad. Gotta clean them up and make them look right.

Okay, more pics:

Here is the hydraulic tube. Didnt like the outside weld too much so thats why I welded inside. Dont even know why I am posting it, cause it looks like crap:laughing:

on them hyd welds.

if it's hidden, ugly, and don't leak.. it works perfect.

what do you call a DR that graduated med school with a C minus

if ti works.. it works..

Thats my thought. It should work just fine, especially with the tube welded on the inside. That welded really well since there was no braze there, it dont look it in the pics, cause I opened the hole back up with a die grinder some, but I am 99% sure it wont leak. and if it does, I'll blob some more weld on:laughing:

I think I am going to revert to plan B on the rims/tires....

The rims are worse than I though. Totally ate up on the inside. But the worst part, they are tweaked pretty good. On a flat floor, a good 1/2" tweaked. The center dish is also tweaked just as bad. And this is only the first rim I broke down. Not sure on the other...

A guy near me has a set of 23.1x26 combine tires with matching bolt pattern, center hole is the right size, and 9" offset should clear my fenders plenty. They are 8-ply, 50% tread or so, and not weather checked. Am going tomorrow to look at them unless anyone thinks this is a terrible idea?? They will make the rear axle sit about 5" higher, as the tires are about 10" bigger, but I like the 8-ply for doding bushhogging....

Asking price is $300, which I think I could sell my 28" tires and whats left of the rims for that. Cause 28" tires seem pretty scarce around here. We looked for months for a pair of tires for my brothers TO30. And I know I would have paid $300+ for these tires 3-4 months ago.

good call.

many times I have spent way too much time to save a rim that should have been trashed. ain't worth it.

easuer and time better spent searching want adds finding cheap older tires on good rims. have made some good buys at auctions and sales getting average rubber, but good rims and centers.. sometiems for the price of scrap weight almost.
