yep. bout 20% faster. But since the TA slows it down ~35%, hooking up can still be done in a slower gear than a tractor with normal tires and no TA:thumbsup:

And still a heck of a lot better than the tall reverse of the 8n

fords definately had some tall gears.

great for plowing.. never figured why such tall reverse gears though..

Yea the tall reverse gear sucks. Especially when trying to back into briar patches and such with a rotary. cutter

Update on the 300...

I temporarly mounted the tires while waiting on paint to dry.....

They are huge and I am wondering if I'll regret that later. Either way, for $250, I could always get my money back pretty easily.

I think I am going to turn them around and make them set wider. There isnt much room in between. For the operator, controls, and hitch stuff. Turning them around will gain 3.5-4" each side.

Also need to figure out something for lug-bolts. The IH is 9/16-18, and these tires are made for 5/8 I believe. The hole through the tire measures ~.675. The 9/16" bolts I have with 7/8" heads sink in too much for my liking. I'll look around online and see if there are any special bolts made (with the taper) that have an oversized head for just this purpose. OR even a special washer?? Any suggestions? If I cannot find anything, I can always drill and re-tap the holes to 5/8-18 and get new bolts.

i don't recall the height difference.. but it is quite a few inches. maybee as much as 5-6"

no problem with arms touching tires.. as the rowcrops use funny 3pt geometry with drop arms anyway.. however.. angle ont he pto shaft for a short implement.. like a spreader is strong. big, but not bad on a mower.

i just looked. no pic handy of her and a mower.. but the 5' mower ont he back is at the max angle i'd run a powershaft on a ujoint and expect it to last. if it was a cv joint.. no issue.

the shaft on my conical magriz spreader is even sharter.. luckilly it just runs an agitator.. so no real laod.. thus it being mor ethen acceptable isn't too bad. plus it only gets run 3x per year anyway.

overseed winter rye, overseed spring millet, and then fert spread

Eh, just had to look em up.

Going fro your 11.2x28's to 14.9x28's, you went from 47" diameter to 53.8" diameter. +6.8" and gained 3.3" on static load radius

Goign from my 13.6x28's to 23.1x26's, I go from 51.6" diameter to 62.4" +10.8" and gained 4.6 no the static load radius.

Yea, they're big.

No to figure out my lug-bolt issues. Not having much luck. I need a bolt with a bigger head. I am not even sure the standard 5/8" bolts with a 1" head is going to be as big as I want. There seems to be a whole ton of different lug nuts. Just looking at nuts and not studs.......a 5/8"-18 takes a 1" wrench standard. But then you look at the fords. (N's and hundred series etc), and they are 5/8" studs, but use an oversized 1-1/8" headed nut.....But cant seem to find any oversized stuff in the way of bolts.....

I am thinking about just getting 5/8" studs, oversized nuts, and pressing in studs.
