That was my first thought too except he said the machine "stalls out" sometimes. I take that to mean the engine literally is working too hard and stalls under the load and I think upping the system pressure would only make that worse. If by "stalls out" he means the hydraulic bypass is opening then I would absolutely be looking at upping the system pressure.
Yeah, you are correct that you can interpret that either way.

Plus, if the engine stalls under load, then is it due to running at too low RPM? Those diesels usually do fine at fairly low speed, but running at working RPM is better. Gas engines are VERY intolerant of low speeds.

Sorry I worded that badly. The track motors stall. The diesel engine does nit even sound like it is loaded hard. Once I get a pressure gauge I will check that out.

I'm looking forward to hearing more about this MP46. Several of this type sold today at a local auction for about $6-7k.
5 hrs with it Yesterday.

1/2 throttle is plenty.
about 2 Liters/hr 10 for the day (less than 3 gallons)
Rotate is Fast and take some getting used to. But weak for skimming/dragging the bucket.
Grease Tension Check Valve leaking, Left Track kept coming off. Pumped lots of grease into it, the only leak I can see is around the Check Valve.
Quiet and Cool in the Cab, but it was only around 57F.
A lot more power than the 1.2T
Pilot Controls were predictable and smooth. Armrests were in the wrong place.
Long Tracks are smoother Walking on uneven ground.

Still on the fence weather to Keep it or Sell it.

Here is a very important warning to anyone buying these smaller Chinese mini-excavators with enclosed cabin.

Carbon monoxide danger! CO levels can rise to dangerous levels in just minutes inside the closed cabin.

Check out this Utube vid:
This guy discovered the problem after a trip to the hospital.

If you don't leave the door open all the time, owners should modify the cabin with better sealing, positive-pressure ventilation, and relocating the exhaust pipe. Maybe a CO monitor, too.

I Iike the idea of routing the exhaust with an external pipe all the way up to roof level.

centraldiggersupply is temporarily closed it seems.
I have the cushion valve in hand but could you provide the parts list for the other components.

Just got my mini and want to upgrade and take care of it.

Many thanks

Yes, Cam Sweet has been deployed by the US military. He recently posted on Utube, showing some of his damage from recent storms.

As for getting the right fittings and hoses to do this upgrade, you will need to get DIN-light metric fittings and 2 hoses. There is some variation between machines as to what sizes you will need. Your local hydraulic shop is rarely the most economical choice for the parts and hoses you need, if they can get them at all.

As I posted, I got my fittings from different internet sources, and I bought pre-made hoses. If you don't have a good pair or metric calipers, you need those first. I then use an adapter ID thread guide like that provided by Distcounthydraulichose.com.

I recently saw a Utube posting where a guy added a cushion valve, and machined his adapters, after getting a quotation from his local shop.

Finally, extra fittings are required if you want to use a gauge to set your RV pressures, which you want to be close to your system RV setting. Or, you can estimate the setting as I did, and see if it works.

Good Luck.

Thats why I wont buy OR run one with a cab!! Confined enough without one!!

New to the forum, new to excavators, and just bought my first one.

First off, Thanks for this Great thread. I have learned a ton. I have a long way to go, since I have no experience with excavators or hydraulics.

Got the excavator home and immediately changed the oil, took pictures of all the parts/equipment with ser. numbers, started installing rubber floor mats, and tried to figure out what I had.

I have several questions that I hope someone could help with:
1. Installing a hydraulic thumb, I assume the red lines on the hydraulic lines should match up? Can I just attach the lines, or do I need to try and put fluid in them first? Do I need to bleed the air out some way when I turn the cylinder to protect the lines?

2. Any suggestions on how to extend the exhaust, there is nothing to attach it to. Should I just buy a new muffler?

3. Does anyone know what size zerk fittings I need to replace the painted ones with? Are there different sizes?

4. There doesn't appear to be a drain plug at the bottom of my hydraulic tank. Should I pull the line, syphon, suggestions? (I haven't removed the side cover yet, seems like you have to remove everything including the ROPS to get it off.)

Thanks in advance for your help.

No bleeding of lines required.

Best way to deal with muffler is to lengthen manifold and route it outside the house. I posted how I did it in Modify thread.

Re hyd tank, best to remove suction filter and clean it out.
