Intangibles: BX23 v. B7510

   / Intangibles: BX23 v. B7510 #11
Some have mentioned staying away from a B-Series if you want to mow. I bought a B7500 a few years ago with the main purpose of mowing. It has a RFM, and I have been tickled with it. It also has a 302 FEL that has seen much more use than I imagined it would. My place has a tad over 2 acres in grass, but one of the neighbors I mow for has about 1/2 acre. When people drive by while I'm mowing the neighbor's place they probably think the tractor is a little big for the job....................chim

Chim,

I don't know who said that, but I will certainly add my voice to yours...the B series tractors can mow pretty well in my book.

Actually, my B2910 with RFM, when the loader was off, in my opinion cut my YARD as well as my BX2200 with MMM does.

It could be I'm just not too picky, but the B2910 with RFM (Woods RD6000) cut BETTER than my little MTD Yardman garden tractor with 42" deck. I am sure about that.

I'm just adding this post to the thread in case someone turns it up in the future with a search...

No doubt in my mind that B series tractors can mow real well.

Went by the dealer saturday. I saw a 7510 and a BX, in person they look quite different than the paper dimensions led me to believe.

When I 1st started looking, my ideal machine was FEL, BH and MMM. Honestly, I could probably use the mower more than the BH, but I want the BH more than I want a mower. I guess more money than sense? Not much money either /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Since most of the tractors we are discussing are all good machines, cost becomes more of an issue. The Deere's generally run 10% more then a comparable Kubota or MF. That would most likely eliminate the 2210 with Woods BH.

I would probably prefer, at this point, a used 7510 over a BX23, but I think I most likely will end up with a BX. Not much currrently in the used market, but as spring approaches I am seeing more out there.

At the prices these machines go for, I wouldn't settle for anything less than what'll work for me.
The BX series SubCuts are great mowers that so happen to do sub compact utility tractor functions. The floating deck that is easily adjusted from the seat is it's plus.
The B series are great compact tractors that so happen to mow well. Having a higher ground clearance and full rated 3PH is it's plus(s).
The BX23 takes the SubCut to another level as it also happens to dig pretty well considering it's size. It's no industrial strength BH machine but it does pretty good around my homestead.

When I weighed what I needed a new tractor to do for me, I went w/the BX23 and haven't looked back.

Yesterday when I was digging out some stumps around the pond, I had a passing thought or two of how a bigger machine would have made short work of it but then, when I dismounted the BH and did my 1st mow of season alittle later, my passing thoughts were how much better this BX mow's over my 3 previous name brand lawn & garden tractors /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Good luck, Drive 'em all an work their controls. See how they fit. Enjoy the process, I did. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
