JimMorrissey, thanks for your imput.....yes that L39 sounds like a very capable machine. I certaintly dont want to sell whatever I get after I finish the house prep things, I plan to have whatever machine I wind up with in out family till the wheels fall off. This will be a family investment for us....also yes I have been reading far far into the archives and did all the 110 searches I could find.......I am just trying to soak everything up like a sponge and be a informed buyer......whatever I wind up with....I'm still on the fence.....I so think it will be orange or green but I hate to narrow down my options totally yet....alot of it will depend on how offers the best financing as I think I will only have the patience to wait long enough to pay for the trailer, binders, chains, transfer tank, etc....via cash and then about a 10% down payment and finance the rest...

...Anyway thanks again to everyone for their "take on things", I learn so much here, I realize how stupid and ignorant I was yesterday everyday here!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Regards, Tom

You don't sound stupid or ignorant to me. Only people who never ask questions are stupid or make fun of people who try to help others are ignorant.
One other tidbit: The L39 has as much clearance height with the bucket dumped as the L48. That was one of the features (among others) that finally sold me. Being around $5,000 less than the 110 or L48 was the biggest reason.

If you need a lot of lifting power, the L48 FEL lifts 3,000lbs. The L39 & 110 are around 2,200 lbs.

When I operated the L-48, it had a much bigger feel to it, approaching the size/feel of a full sized backhoe with an open ROPS. The L39 still felt small enough to be highly manueverable compared to the L48, but had a lot of power. Look at the advantage in turning radius: 7.2' for the 39 and 10.5' for the 48.

I'd buy the L48 if any of these factors are of great importance: HST, greater FEL & 3pt lifting power, backhoe dig depth.

I'd buy the L39 if any of these factors are of great importance:
Price, GST, manuverability & visibility, more modern features.

In the end, the L48's better lifting & HST couldn't overcome the added price.

I hate to complicate the decision, but had the Yammar been available last year when I bought my L39, the Yanmar would get my attention, considering it has the Backhoe specs to match the L48, L 39 and JD110 with near the loader lift of the L48 and tops all others on breakout force. The linkage for the bucket cylinders provides great leverage at ground level for breakout for the size of the cylinders. Very clever, I think!

The problem of not having a local dealer to me does not scare me that much, but I would make sure it is optioned the way you want from the start.

I would also spend at least a full afternoon working this machine prior to ordering. The one thing that scares me about this machine for later ag use is the 2 speed hydrostatic drive and the lower PTO rating.

Ask if you will be doing more farming or earth moving. This CBLis not a ag tractor primarily, although unlike the IR machines, does have a 3 pt/PTO. The L39 can pretend to be an ag mahine mort believably of all the crop of compact TLB's.

Called nearest dealer today to go look at one up close and personal. Nope, not there yet . Another manufacturer that starts advertising before delivering apparently. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif Prices out right at $39K w/PTO and lift arms. $37K without. including 24" bucket. Does include quick attach front and rear as standard equipment.

****, $39K

I wish my salary could keep up! Before the world falls into economic collaspe, I wonder if the Chinese will copy these type of machines? The location of the fuel tank is nice.

If they were really, smart the frame and loader posts could be designed as the fuel tank. they could spray in a plastic tank lining to take care of any weld splatter and corrosion.

Or you could opt for one of these: /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

39K? tsk. that's too much.

Might as well go L-48 and get the extra power, better dealer network, more proven machine and higher PTO output. 0% financing don't hurt, either.

I didn't care for the 8'6" cab height. Man that's high for a compact TLB.

Ya that price is in the same neighborhood as the JD 110 and Bota L48 and just doesnt LOOK like it fits in that neighborhood, however I guess the specs say it does BUT......specs are written by the manufactures so whos to say.....I'm still keeping my choices between Green and Orange for now I think......although that little JCB 212 I think has 75hp.....holly cow.....no 3pt tho......

Why is this too much? at the Conex show last Wed they had a stripped down L 39 TLB starting at 38K
