Is TBN too "family friendly" for your tastes?

Is that where all your wisdom comes from? I'm having a really hard time imagining you being "scolded" by Muhammad or anyone else for anything you would post here.

I'll admit I'm still in the shallow end of this pool, so I don't know everything that has gone on in the years before, but you're always very friendly and level-headed. I just hope I have the honor of drinking a cup of coffee with you some day. It would be a great treat.

Thanks for the kind words and I do try to be friendly and level headed, but unfortunately, I can't claim to be perfect or always succeed.

My grandmother once said "pshaw" in front of me. That's the "worst" language she ever used, I am fairly certain.

Bird you are TBN to me. (no offense Muhammad or Hakim). Had some of the old timers like Harv and MChalkey stuck around, I would probably visit here a bit more. I had my spats with Amsoil Mike, Cowboydoc and old Trescrows, but in some ways it was more of a maturing process for me then anything. They were about as dogmatic as any TBN member could be. You Mr Bird never stepped on toes or had a bad thought in your head that I ever read or could detect. I am sure there were times you would have but your maturity won out. Thanks Bird, you have been the greatest contributer to TBN. PS, remember when I corrected you on TnT. You kept calling it top and tip and I said NO, its top and tilt! RaT AKA Paddock back in 1999 and 2000.

Yep, RaT, I used the wrong words when I was trying to do the top 'n tilt and I'd forgotten that it was you who corrected me. The trouble is that even now, not even the moderators can change or edit the title of a post or thread. And there are valid reasons for that, but it means that my post still has the wrong title.

And yes sir, I, too, miss the guys you named. They were very helpful to me and I learned a lot from them. Incidentally, you know that eagle in my signature was done by Harv.

I think that Harv's Christmas video should be a sticky this time of year. Harv had so much computer savy especially compared to me. To think he's now in the Landromat business just down the road from me and RobertN. I would love to stop by and see him.

That's not so hard to believe, Bird. The worst thing I ever heard my dad say was "Gosh dang it" and once I heard my mom say "Oh h*ll". That's it.

When my oldest daughter was in 5th or 6th grade she came up to me one day and said, "Dad. I want to start cussing." I replied "What the $$%^@# do you want to do that for?" She just looked at me in shock for a few minutes. Then we both started laughing. I told her if she ever wanted to start cussing, she could do it with me, in a place where no one could here us, and that if I ever heard her say anything in public, she was doomed. I also told her the words she was never to speak and she agreed. So, maybe twice a year, we say a few bad words, laugh about it and it is over. It took the mystery out of it for her and she realizes it has no place in public.

You can bet it will be popping up again soon. My kids love it and ask to see it around Christmas each year. That poor little tractor...

When Harv was building that laundromat, he and I exchanged not only PMs on TBN, but e-mails several times. And he sent me pictures of it as it was being built, but then we lost contact. The last time I sent him an e-mail, I never got a response. So I sure hope he and his family are OK. I still have the e-mail address he was using back then, don't know whether he's changed it or not, but I guess I need to try it again. If you stop by and see him, let me know.
