Is TBN too "family friendly" for your tastes?

I understand. However, if it was something that I had said, or done, that was really offensive, then I would want to apologize for that. If it was some trivial thing then I would think that they were overly sensitive.
But, maybe it is just as well that one does not know if they are on someones list.:)

If I was on someones ignore list, I don't think I would like to know about it. It would just haunt me wanting to know who it was and why they put me there. It would probably even build up resentment and anger. Glad I don't know.;)
Well, you are certainly not on my ignore list.
As a matter of fact, after your padlock comment on Rat's Costume thread, you are now on my Hero list.
That has to be the funniest thing I've read in years. Had me ROTFLMAO.

I do have a question, if your on anyones ignore list is there anyway to find that out?

I too have wondered this. I think it would be neat to have another little "light", like the one that shows if your online. If you aren't on anyones ignore list, it could stay green, then if you are, it would turn to a different color, with a number inside showing how many have you "ignored".
Yup ..Nice to know who don't like you ?

I don't really know how the ignore thing works, but I wouldn't want to know about it. So, do posts from someone you are ignoring just not show up in threads? What if they are quoted? There's probably a section on that somewhere, so I'll look for it, but anyway, that would be kind of like "negative feedback" to see that people were ignoring you. I'm only aware of one person I've really ticked off (not nice PM's from them and such) and it was all over a misunderstanding. Actually, I'd prefer if I was on their ignore list.

So is that why some people have "add me to your ignore" list links in their sigs? Or is that a joke?

Either way, this forum seems moderated much tighter than others, but I still think it's for the good. And I don't think the mods feel more "righteous" than us. They are just doing their jobs, like several have said, they get pruned too.

Spivey, if you ignore someone, you will see *you are ignoring this poster* when they post, but if someone quotes the person you're ignoring you will see their post/response. Otherwise, there's no way to know if someone is ignoring you, & IMHO it should be that way.

The mods here do a great job & my hat's off to them! Having had some experience in the position, I know how thankless (among other things) the position can be.

Spivey,
I hadn't seen it on here before until I did it several months back (but then again, I've only been registered with TBN for 10 months), I ran across another on a sig just a few days ago.

It started out as me being a smart alec because I got into a quasi-heated conversation with another gentleman on TBN. Then in a PM, he said he was going to add me to his ignore list. I made it easy for him...

Now it's pretty much a joke, but I am sure I've chapped a few people and they've used my shortcut.

Thank you very much for the compliment.

It is an honor to be able to sit here in Louisiana and hold a discussion on TBN with others in California, Maine, Florida, Holland, Australia and many other places around the world at the same time. Many of us have nothing in common except a link to tractors and I suspect a few of us don't even have tractors. Our similarities grow and our differences shrink as we discuss things on TBN.

I really enjoy a "good" debate, but most debates on forums usually end as arguments and bad feelings on both sides. The mods do a great job of keeping us all one happy family and allowing us to exchange ideas and info and build relationships with others worldwide. I can think of many positives to this exchange and no real negatives.

Long Live TBN! :) :) :) :) :)

I can't imagine why it would take an "Ignore List" to ignore any comments and/or persons who I don't choose to read. Just IGNORE them. That said, I'm sure I've been added to a few ignore list's myself. I'm here to listen to opinions, and give a few myself. I'm quite sure, from the reactions I've got at times, that I've stepped on a few toes. We're all (supposed to be) big boys (and in some cases, girls) We're SUPPOSED to be adults. We should be able to push the boundries and not take it all too personally that we can't shake hands and make up after the debate has ended.

I'm on a fire district board of directors and a church board. In both cases, we've had heated arguements, then walked out the front door laughing and joking. Carrying a grudge can be an awful burden.

I met a couple of my best friends during arguements. You just have to know when it's time to put down the boxing gloves.

Hilarious! Yes, yours was the first I'd seen with that link in the sig. I remember thinking why would you advertise to get on someone's ignore list? Cracks me up now to hear the story behind the story. I bet I would have agreed with you on that argument because you've got a great sense of humor. As for actually using it, I can't imagine having so much disdain for someone as to have to have the forum censor their posts rather than simply not reading them. Although I suspect I'm much more likely to be ignored than to ignore. :)

I don't want to put an adversary on an ignore list. It was some famous (or infamous) person who once said something like "it is more important to know your enemies than your friends".
