Re: It\'s tree removal time!

We cut three pieces of 2 inch angle iron and welded it together in order to deflect those trees.

Re: It\'s tree removal time!

After doing such a nice job welding on the dozer, Bobby took her for a spin.

I usually have a big smile on my face when operating the dozer. Bobby is thinking some pretty deep thoughts here, but I'm unsure if he's having fun or not.

Re: It\'s tree removal time!

Eddie, you need to get one of these to keep the fire going. I had 4 big piles on my place after clearing and this fan will make a little furnace out of those piles. Cuts burn time and a hot fire has less smoke.

Pocket Cyclone

I'm sure there are other manufacturers but this is the one my local rental carries. Be very careful with the fan, if it tips over and the blade breaks, it's gonna cost you. My neighbor found out the hard way /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Re: It\'s tree removal time!

Ill agree on the cyclones. I make a few by going to auctions and getting the exhaust fans out of them when available. They mostly run 3 hp at 17cfm I take a 5 hp horizontal shaft engin and make them mobile. I make skids or a trailer and put a pivot trunion on them. The good part about them is a 55 gallon drum just fits over the end and we cut the ends out of several and tack them together to fit into the heart of the fire. They usually work out good.

Re: It\'s tree removal time!

It's been long enough for those trees to dry out enough to burn.

I had a guy out who wanted to the pines, which I gave him for free, but after a few trips, he hasn't been back in a couple months. Not sure why, he doesn't return my emails. Oh well, time to burn them.

Here is the rake on my dozer.

The trees are where I left them, but now they are all dried out.

Re: It\'s tree removal time!

The rake does a real nice job of holding onto the trees without digging up the ground. I can even push more at a time with the rake!

Re: It\'s tree removal time!

The fire has been going for a few weeks now. When it gets to hot out to work on my workshop, I take a break on the dozer. Every day I add a few loads to the fire, punch it up and let it burn.
