JD 567 round baler

ok i need thoughts from the JD people here on a 2006 JD 567 mega wide round baler with 2500 bales or less on it.ive know about the baler for a good while so i called on it yesterday to start working on buying it if we settle on a price.the guy retired an parked it in the barn 3yrs ago.so it has set that long without baling any hay.what are yalls thoughts on this baler.

thanks ken i checked both fastline an tratorhouse an both had the baler from $16000 to $25000 both high an low count on the bales.

Wouldn't hurt to see what JD dealers are listing them for as well.

2500 bales isn't even hardly broken in. You didn't state if prospective baler had Netwrap which is about a $5K option. If it has Netwrap I'm going to guess $22.500. I've owned two 467 balers and they are by far the best ones I've owned. You'll "LIKE IT":cool2:

jim i cant remember if it has netwrapp on it or not.but your right its a good deal either way.ive known that the baler was for sale for 2 or 3yrs.but didnt want to give his asking price.an he has come around to my way of thinking.

Tractor will need to be 80 HP up to operate baler successfully.

weve got 2 tractors that can pull it.a semi retired 7700 ford an a jx80 4x4 caseih.

That JX80 @ 62 pto HP will have more than it wants if the pressure on the baler is run at 2 o'clock and the bale is 6 ft tall. My 120 pto hp tractor knows my JD 467 is behind it when I'm going 6 MPH baling.

i have no doubts the jx80 will pull it in 2 or 4wd drive as it was being pulled by a 7710 2wd 84hp.

That's the same HP as my Kubota and my 5x4 is just what it wonts.I could possibly move a 567 so I could mow where it was setting,lol. I paid 21,000 new with net for my 5410,the bales work out good for me...

I thought Vermeer 5410 were advertised to only require 40 pto HP?? JD states 75 pto HP as minimum for a 567 and that would be on fairly level ground.

On most my hay pastures,the 7040 is perfect match to the 5410(has alittle extra) but I have on hills pulled it down to were I have had to drop it in 3 low,thats with almost a full bale. Flat ground yeah 40hp will do it but my thoughts your not going to run much speed with it,cause your going to have to run in a low range gear...

I was finishing up last year and this was a little patch,desided to make couple videos.I usually straighten my cuts but just went with it for the video,so wouldnt just see the front of tractor the whole time,slowed down on both also. Thats the 2009-M7040 baling and the 2012-M7040 cutting

I've been looking (dreaming about...) at the 456-457 silage special balers with net wrap. Book says 55hp. Thinkin' with 40-45% moisture bales my 60hp 5075M won't have enough "snort" to do the job!

Now, I'm thinking maybe a good, 2750 or 2755 would be a better round baling tractor.

No my JD 4255 has been my baling tractor since I bought it in '93. In 2 to 4 rd bale/acre hay I rake three 9 ft cuts together and sometimes one can hear my 120 hp tractor grunt while baling. I just bought the M7040 about 4 months ago. I use it to load/unload rd bales,pull my Vermeer 7030 disc cutter & backup tractor for my H&S hi-cap rake. All this depends on IF I get enough rain to make hay.

I think your 5075M will be borderline but should handle a 457 rd baler making silage bales.
